Heck yes this is such an awesome idea!! You are 1000% right that this will be great with those bigger machines! Going to order one!
  • @MakersMuse
Ah yes this is a genius idea, I don't print resin for months at a time and just had to empty the Mega 8K's almost FULL vat yesterday. Gonna source one right now lol
  • It's funny, the simple solutions you dont think of until someone else introduces it to you. What a great idea. Thanks Grant! And thanks for passing on the suggestion Danny!
  • @DavidClunie
I think you're missing the bigger use of these pumps, for the reverse! FILLing your vats with resin especially coupled with a smart switch (just on/off) or with an Arduino for large format you'd never have to worry about an empty vat mid print!
  • @andy-in-indy
I wonder if you could design a tray that has a resin return that you could attach to the pump's hose. For that matter, add a float switch and have it automatically refill if it gets low, like the stuff from FormLabs.
  • @SethGlenn
This is an absolute game changer!!! I have a very small workspace set up in my laundry room for better ventilation, and having a pump to minimize the mess when cleaning up between prints will be awesome! Thank you for this!
  • @rolix001
This video is literally saving me so many hours of cleaning time due to spills or just removing and putting the vat back. Thank you so much dear sir.
  • @86abaile
Strange, I see peristaltic pumps almost every day at work and yet I'd never considered this. Thanks for the tip. As for something to hold the tube, consider a swing out clip mounted to the hold down clamps.
  • @3DMusketeers
Happy to help Danny! What a great solution and for less than $40 come on, that is SO CHEAP! A wonderfully cheap solution for those that want to mess around more than others! Great video, your editing is on point as always and OMG THAT LIGHTING! Jealous lol. Keep it up and thanks for the shoutout!
  • Game changer, thank you so much. I was always leaving my Elegoo Jupiter sitting for days because I didn't want to do the VAT change and cleanup between prints. Amazing!
  • @dextonfeldark
I got one of those a month ago for my printer. I’ve used types that let you use one solid hose, so I can have one for resin, one for water, one for IPA, but I still prefer it.
  • Peristaltic pumps are incredibly useful. I used to use them in graduate school to make Percoll gradients. Fantastic suggestion for use.
  • @Yarkspiri
Oh man, I'm going to order this thing right now. Thank you for posting this.
  • @Jauphrey
Thank you for these great ideas, Danny. As a person who enjoys D&D and painting, but also really enjoys 3D printing as a hobby in and of itself, stuff like this is just so enjoyable to incorporate into my system. :) Thanks for all you do!
  • @KnarbMakes
Oh man, I can imagine that thing firehosing resin all over the place. LOL. Good find Danny!
  • @AndrewSink
Such a cool video. You're right; this is an AMAZING idea that makes the clean-up so much easier!
  • @teaelixer
for small vats I recommend 100ml syringe to hand pump the resin. No dangly bits of tubes and wires on the table.
  • @tedcogley1939
I want to say thank you for all you do for the community or new people learning to 3d print. You take the time for people like me that yes stupid in the lack of what to do. So again thank you.
  • @AndrewAHayes
The amount of resin you had in the vat is not what I would normally have left after a print has completed, I usually only have a few mm depth of resin left after a print and pouring it into a filter+ funnel is not a problem as everything is contained within a deep tray to contain any spills, which are rare, my biggest problem is forgetting I have gloves on that have resin on the fingers and then go and touch things and mark them with resin
