The Symphony no. 9 in C major, D. 944, is the last symphony completed by Franz Schubert. It is usually called 'The Great' to distinguish it from the 'Little' Symphony no. 6 in C major. It is largely believed that the no. 9 Symphony was written in 1825. Composition: Public Domain. Recording: European Archive Creative Commons 3.0; Public Domain.

This is why I like wood working. The material is already a warped mess before you start work. Keeps the expectations low.

I like the way you've shot right past "distressed" and gone straight for the "salvaged from a shipwreck" motif.

"If it works the first time it's 'cause you already done it." That belongs on the next run of shwag.
  • Seeing someone work hard and the result being crooked never fails to amuse me, but if you laugh when i do it, we have a problem

I am almost never impressed by your welding prowess - and this is no exception - love your videos and appreciate you sincerely

They use that specific shielding gas in welding because whenever you want to weld you find that it's Ar-gone.

“Is that crooked?” “No, it’s just so long that the curvature of the earth makes it look that way.” Eminently applicable.

It never fails that I get it all tacked up perfectly square and then get carried away with welding, warping it into a lopsided pretzel instead of a frame.

I am welder at a manufacturing facility. I welded some stuff for my dad a while back. Afterward he said, that place pay you to weld that shitty. True story.
  • The hen’s teeth reference never gets old. Coincidentally, this is where I learned that birds don’t have teeth and it helped me “win” my first disagreement with the wife. “Win” was a moral victory; I still lost if you smell what I’m stepping in.

You'll get more gas, weld for five minutes and run out of wire.
  • I’m supposed to be doing some welding and grinding right now but then this got posted so I guess I’ll watch someone else do it for 17 minutes as a way of putting off having to do it myself.

Employed as a parts department guy in the greater DC area. We have a customer called Skookum Contract Services. I'm not sure how well they chooch, but I chuckle every time they call or pick up parts.

Listen to the power, skill and daring of Schubert's writing at 12:06. No one till that date, not even Beethoven had written anything like this. The dissonant section of the strings plays off the insistence of the alternating horns in a grinder of articulated chaos. The fact this frenetic section ends in quietude is telling; not even Schubert, the greatest melodist of all time, could tame the leviathon he had created. Respect and Love.
  • Love the palm peeper protection shielding. Helmet is all the way over there for fuxake!

Can we get the "junkie Christmas" reading this year? Its been a few years without it and I miss it.

Last year I built a frame for a 35 ton manure tank to sit on. Ended up having to hold it down with a tractor halfway through to re-straighten it. You can never have enough clamping force!
