I love these old tow trucks. If only they could talk, the stories they could tell would be amazing.

First one is a 1975 model year with the VIN for the win: F37 for F-350 2WD cab and chassis, Y for 360 CID V8 with two barrel, N for Norfolk, VA assembly and the rest is the production sequence lining up with 1975 model year production. The Norfolk VA plant operated from 1925 to 2007. We got the tag, we can brag: 137 for the wheelbase of the truck in inches, M for Wimbledon White exterior paint, F377 for F-350 2WD cab and chassis with dual rear wheels, D8 for Black vinyl interior trim, F for four speed Warner T18 manual transmission, 27 for 4.10:1 rear axle ratio made by Dana-Spicer, J for power steering front axle, 10000 for the maximum GVWR of the truck in pounds, 1975 for 1975 model year, and 22 for Charlotte, NC sales district. Second one, I agree with the others, it's likely a newer model and the door is from another vehicle, but going by that, the VIN gets the win: F37 for F-350 2WD chassis cab, H for 390 CID V8 with two barrel, V for Norfolk, VA assembly and the rest is the production sequence lining up with 1975 model year production. We got the tag, we can brag: 137 is the wheelbase, IM would be Bright Blue Metallic and Wimbledon White two-tone exterior paint, F377 is 2WD F-350 chassis cab with dual rear wheels, 2B8 for Black vinyl heavy duty interior trim with blue appointments, A for four speed manual transmission, New Process 435, 27J for 4.10:1 rear axle ratio, made by Dana-Spicer, non-locking and J for front power steering axle, 10000 is the maximum GVWR of the truck and 22 for Charlotte, NC sales district.

For those who don’t know what a Holmes 500 is, it’s a wrecker that will literally tear the truck in half before it stops pulling. The 500 is one of the strongest light duty booms ever made. They need to be saved for 👍
  • Those Holms rigs were the best of the best back in the day. A local group bought a pair of new Ford F350's back in 68 with the Holmes rigs. They got all the towing business in the area for several years, till the partnership broke up and they moved on. We had a huge tornado hit the town that year, and those 2 rigs pretty much did all destroyed vehicles in the town, should have paid for themselves that year! As a kid I rode with them for a day on the clean up, never forget that!

Now 1975 is smog exempt in California, this truck are worth it out in California, and those are manual homes wrecker booms I have one too,😢I need parts , thanks BigAl California.
  • Can you please do a video on the black Buick Reatta in front of the camper? Thanks!
  • That brown wrecker is a 78 because it’s the one with the round headlight earlier 78 and then they went to the square headlight later and 78 and nine was square
  • @stacytoledo5905
    I'm thinking Brown one is a 75 with a 78 grill , if it's a 78 it will have a 351m or a 400m if factory, or a 460

I am a fan of Ford tow trucks because I want my own Ford tow truck Sunday like a 1980s model with an automatic transmission in a but any four tow truck or any other truck with wrecker bodies can run on gas or diesel
  • @avenger1888
Ever wonder what happened to Cooter's tow truck from the Dukes of Hazards. Well we found it.
  • @quinnparks413
