I have to say that the food in Laos was the best I've ever had. There are so many aspects that I know you can't touch on in two short videos. But the congee, larb, garlic/lime peanuts, and so much more. I just loved every bite of every meal I had there!

Love the mutual respect between the local pro Chefs in this programme and Gordon.
  • Lao food is the ancient food that the ancestors created for their children as heirs through many generations, but it can still live together with the eating culture of the Lao people and our Lao nation forever. We should be proud to be born on this rich land. This is Lao food. #proudtobeLao #Laofoods

Gordon mind: you marinated the gecko in fucking whiskey you donkey. Gordon: banana flambé
  • Just want to say thanks mr Gordon for sharing Lao food to the world!!! Thank you🙏🏻
  • This was such a challenge to find the right selection for the monks. It ended fantastic even with out the Banana flambé. What an incredible adventure in Laos …. can’t wait to see where Gordon is off to next!

  • This woman is such a BADIE! She pulls out a jar of whiskey with a geko in it and says my friend made it! Lololol
  • So proud of you.. learning the Lao Culture way and tradition. Love this video

Those monks looked so happy. The monks in America smile a whole lot more. Monks aren’t supposed to judge the food. But just give thanks to the offering. This was kinda strange. The monks would also tie a sting and bless anyone that comes.

Lao-Canadian here. The reason why the flambee couldn't be served because it was against one of the Buddhist precepts, specifically "abstain from drugs and alcohol".

I love Laos food. It has balance in the sour, sweet, herb and spicy

A big Thank you for sharing this momentous discovery on Laotian cuisine…. just like in our country in neighboring provinces, we so have some delicacies that are very much embedded in our culture and tradition.
