If these two men had recorded an album together, with just their two acoustic guitars and their warm, soulful voices, I'd have bought it in a heartbeat. Just beautiful!

One of the greatest "unplugged" moments in pop music history.

For the love of God, this should be a yearly celebration, the day music was perfect.

I still remember seeing this in 1976. Even as a stupid teenager, watching this on TV, I knew I had seen something very special.

NOTHING I've seen on SNL over the past 40+ years comes even close to the brilliance of this.

I remember seeing this live on SNL when it aired. This kind of performance was why the show was so loved at the time. It was a wonderful piece of music history.

Two great songwriters; two great guitarists; one great song. Nothing extraneous. It doesn't get better this.

Listening to Harrison's voice blend perfectly with Simon's in this performance, anyone can deduce that George's voice was the one containing the secret ingredient to the Beatles' phenomenal harmonies....
  • When George takes the 2nd verse of "Homeward Bound" ...it is truly magical...his voice is so beautiful'''🥰

The audience had no idea what they were watching! A 1 in a million act!
  • Still listening, January, 2024. 2 great performers, 2 magnificent tunes!

I don't know how I can be even more impressed with George Harrison's guitar playing, singing, harmonizing, and gentle, humble stage presence, but after watching him play and sing with Paul Simon Simon's song Homeward Bound, I am totally gobsmacked. He is always so humble, as is Paul Simon. It would have been lovely if they had put out an album of acoustic songs together. Beautiful, just beautiful. Every time I listen to the Beatles or to one of them solo, it is a spiritual experience.
  • To have lived during the time when Beatles walked this earth. I only have this to say........Thank you for everything.

Arguably SNL's greatest musical moment of all time.

Wow, doesn't get any better. On 11/29/2001 I was boarding a plane for a long business trip and thought, damn it's my 50th B-Day. Another lousy birthday, but worse, it was announced on early morning TV news that George Harrison died. I went into a BR stall and cried. Big tough guy who was drafted and did a tour as a Army Ranger (LRRP). So, I said, screw my trip and fly off to visit my favorite person on earth. Not my loving wife of 30 years or my mom of 50 years, who had her hands full with me growing up, but to see my grandmother. She lit up like a harvest moon seeing me. It was a perfect idea, and sadly not many more to come. She died shortly thereafter at 100. George always had a special place in my heart too. I think of that day often.

Both of them treated the other's creation with the utmost respect in this duet. Great music. They should have recorded an album together. They certainly could sing together very well.

George Harrison, best friend to all musicians famous or not. The best Beatle!
