CHARLIE PUTH - THAT'S NOT HOW THIS WORKS (short film)

To date I’ve made 34 music videos, and they rarely feel like they say the whole truth about a song. There’s always more to say, and it’s usually just outside the music. It’s more in the moments, and that’s how my brain has always processed things - finally, I was able to make something to recreate truly what this song means to me. I cannot wait for you to hear it. This music video was so incredible to watch because it doesn’t paint either of them as “the good guy” or “the bad guy.” It paints them as human. And I know that the song is just going to continue these real human emotions and be very relatable.

“You can’t have a serious conversation without using it as inspiration for something” Just gave me chills because you just know that someone actually said that to him because theres no way you can just make that up

I never wanted this to end literally need a full 2 hour movie this is not enough!! The acting, chemistry and storytelling are superior!

The scene where the power went off and you were playing games in candle light, dancing without music was the most romantic thing I've ever seen in my life. I loved every second of this short film

Okay... as a long-time fan of Charlie Puth, I'm used to his immense musical talent, but I never ever expected him to be this good of an actor?! For years, he was being humble and said he can't act, though THIS masterpiece was made with the legendary Sabrina Carpenter! I am so impressed and I really think this is Charlie's BEST work. So proud and can't wait for "That's Not How This Works." P.S. The moments where Charlie literally YELLED terrified me... felt so real and we know it came from a personal, dark experience for Charlie. Our hearts are so touched! Love y'all
