Wow, Prince Philip had a really terrible childhood separated from his mother and sisters. Quite tragic.

I love how Queen Olga thinks! She was ahead of her time.

As I understand it all of Philip’s German relatives were of late invited to family events, but no photos of them together were permitted. That finally happened at his funeral, which I think was a nice gesture. Enough water under the bridge, I guess.

I'll never forget the scene in the Crown when a very young Philip attends his sisters funeral with all that Nazi presence. That really gave a perspective of what his long life had made him experience.

Unless it was mentioned in another video, nothing is said here about the wealthy Princess Marie Bonaparte being their aunt (married to their father's brother George). Sophie's sister-in-law Mafalda was the daughter of King Victor Emmanuel III of Italy. Prince Philip's surviving sisters were not invited to attend his wedding to Princess Elizabeth. Very good video.

It would be interesting to cover the lives of the Japanese Imperial family.
