The amount of kinetic energy created by Scotty waving his hands around is the next form of renewable energy.
  • I had of 2011 Ford F-150 with a bad transmission. It got stuck on 3rd gear and would not shift up or down. Shop wanted $2,000 to fix, but I discovered that it was a solenoid fuse. Change the fuse for $5 and the transmission went back to normal

An aftermarket warranty that actually covered a repair ? Dude should go by a lottery ticket .
  • Hey Scotty, I`ve got a 2003 F150 4.6 liter V8 automatic transmissions it for work and now has 255,000 miles original engine and transmission. I do all the maintenance myself.
  • I bought a brand new Dodge truck in 2003 and several people warned me that the transmission would go out around 70K miles. Of course, the warranty expired at 70K miles. Long story short, sure enough, my transmission went out at around 70K miles. Today, I drive a Ford F150 and l love it.
  • The 6r80 is extremely strong with those f150s. Best trans ford used in the last 20 years
  • Transmission on my 2007 f150 with out at 220,000miles , pulled the transmission out, a guy rebuilt it for 950. Been 2 years so so good
  • My 2013 platinum 3.5 EcoBoost has over 420 thousand miles all original....it all comes down to maintenance

We just sold our 2007 F150 and it had 242,000 on it. The only significant repair ever required was the power steering had to all be replaced. It was just worn out at 225,000 miles. The transmission still runs like new. Original engine, starter, alternator, radiator, differentials, you name it. The big things that destroy tranmissions is not changing the fluid and pulling in overdrive. I didn't put much into the truck other than normal maintenance and wear items.
  • From my understanding as a European living in Greece where most cars are manuals, is that we are lucky we got mostly manuals, they last for ever with minimal maintenance and we are not worried. Yes they are not that comfortable to drive in traffic but heck we are used to them and we are fine not paying for stupid staff.

My Pop passed down a 2001 5.4 f-150 to me 5 years ago. Just clocked 300,000 miles. Other than breaks, oil changes, wiper fluid and things like that... I pull a work trailer every and it hasn't skipped a beat. Granted, he retired as a Blue oval Master tech and maybe that has a little to do with it. It has been the best, most reliable vehicle I've ever owned.

I have a 2014 F-150 STX with the 3.7L engine and RWD. No power house, but gets the job done for my service needs for my company. Currently have 226,000 plus miles on it. Engine has had nothing go wrong and is running great. The transmission had the torque converter replaced under extended warranty at about 95K mi. Had that growning sound. Vehicle has been an extremely reliable truck with mostly highway miles and maybe upwards of 15k of towing over its life. I do most maintenance myself, use Amsoil products for all oil/trans/rear diff. fluids . Treat your vehicle right, and it will reward you with reliable service.

I’ve got a 2013 F150 with the 5.0 and 6R80. Best truck I’ve ever owned. Has 181k on it and runs smooth. Had 4x4 issues like 10k ago, but my truck is also leveled and on wheels and puts extra stress on the suspension and 4x4 components... Once I replaced the hubs and vacuum valves it’s perfect again.
  • @bbseeding9938
I have a 2010 4.6L with 225,000 miles. 6R80 is solid. No issues. Only issue I have is the 4x4 actuators. Vacuum leaks.. ball joints also went out early at 33k and was fixed under warranty. Over all I am very happy especially when I got it brand new for 29K with A plan. Back in 2010. Unfortunately I am not interested in a new one given the 10R80 trans and 60k. Also can stand all the electronics that fail. New recall for backup cameras etc…
  • I have a 2013 f150 with the v8, has 188k miles and the transmission still works great
  • @YoungMulahBB
just bought my first truck a 2020 F150 Raptor, learning about Fords and the ecoboost ect. all very exiting and been an awesome pickup so far!
  • @GOVT-fy5pi
I have a 1989 Ford f150 Xl regular cab long bed with 446,000 miles on it. It has the 5.0 v8 and e4od transmission. It leaks oil but it runs great and the transmission shifts very smoothly. Wish you could still get a truck like that now days, back when ford was really ford tough.
  • @DERRELL_LB562
I got a 2002 Lincoln Navigator 5.4 4VALVE with 201000 miles on the original engine and transmission no issues just regular maintenance
  • 2015 f150 5.0 got 288k miles, tows often. ECM is the only major thing that ever needed replacing at 190k
