Here's Everything GREAT about the God of War Trilogy! You guys seem to have really enjoyed the last time that we did this so I was thinking now would be the perfect time to do it again. God of War is near and dear to me and I'm so happy that Kratos has finally found his redemption in the Valhalla DLC. A DLC NO ONE saw coming. So let's look back at the older God of Wars and take a look at what makes Kratos among the best characters in gaming.

For business purposes, my email can be found in the "about" section on my channel page.

“to catch a fly from the ass of zeus is not worth my time” is the only thing Kratos tells Hermes during the entire chase sequence

Knowing now, thanks to Valhalla, Kratos‘s character arc is fantastic, and something to learn from.
  • Fun fact . In GOW 3 , The main theme where he says hold devils pot of tea is in reality people speaking in greek and they are saying το τελος αρχιζει τωρα which translates to : the end is beginning now
  • 38:02 the ship captain DOES get a nod in GOW 2018! There is a treasure you can find and attached to it is a note that references him! Love the video man!

I remember myself playing the first God of war game in the ps2 back in 2005. To think that it would become one of the best franchises of all time
  • This is no way saying that one era of GOW is better than the other but i find it so funny how the ragnarok video is longer than the entire trilogy put together

Theory: I think the higher plain of existence Athena speaks of is the one which Odin is trying to learn about in GoW Ragnarok.
  • God of War 2018 made me want to be a game dev. God of War Ragnarok made me swear to myself that I'll work in Santa Monica Studio one day. Still got a fair bit of a road in front of me, but it WILL happen.

Fun fact: the VA for hephestus is the same VA for Zues in Disney's Hercules

It still genuinely kills my soul that TC Carson wasn’t able to voice kratos in the new games especially in the new DLC

“Aphrodite cursed Medusa to be a gorgon.” No, actually! In the version in which Medusa is “turned into” a gorgon, it’s Athena who does it- usually as revenge for Poseidon assaulting her at Athena’s temple. Even then, THAT version was made up by Ovid in his Metamorphoses, who had a vested interest in portraying the gods as petty, cruel, and stupid, as an allegory for the king who banished him.

Definitely one of the game series I will never put down Every single time I've played a God of War, no matter how many times I have prior, it is fresh, it is fun, and by all things holey(ha!) is it an experience Santa Monica is definitely one of the studios that deserves to be in the hall of fame. Their consistency is uncanny

I'm early into the video so far but you've been saying that he hasn't "technically" killed many innocents, in GOW 2018, he does in fact tell Atreus that he killed many who were deserving and many who were not

After playing through Valhalla yesterday and seeing Helios return I couldn't help but get a laugh and think to myself. Kratos got his first head back LMAO 🤣

God of War is one of my favorite franchises of all time, with GoW 2 being my favorite of the original trilogy. Angry Boi Kratos was an absolute BEAST, and his revenge arc was a blast to play through. But then to see him roughly 1,000 years later (give or take a few decades) and his arc to understanding WHAT that anger truly did, and his growth and maturity as a husband, father and GOD? I feel is a MASTER CLASS in character writing. He was still a beast, but I feel a lot of that pain and anger was tempered when he found Faye and had a second chance at a great love. Top tier, Santa Monica. Top tier.

1:03:40 this scene really stuck on me, I was really shocked by how realistic the screams were. The voice actor did an amazing job

Cory Barlog is one of the only humans on the planet that i would trust his word.

So I hate to do this, but most commonly in Greek myths Athena was the one to curse Medusa.
