  • Love Camper's little backback. He is so handsome. It's always good to be prepared.
  • Nikki, You also might look into getting a HAM radio. Not only do they have frequencies that people all over the world can hear you but they also carry frequencies that don't require a license that can transmit up to 2 - 5 miles away depending on where you are at.
  • Thank you for the info because not being a big hiker myself it's good to know. I'm glad to see that Camper does pick-up some of the slack by carrying some of his own supplies (what a Prince and he's such a cutie). You've been a whirlwind of info for so many life experiences and I do appreciate it. Many thanks to you and Camper, happy trails.

This is SO helpful and informative! I need to find me that Emergency Kit with the shelter and compass. Thank you for all you do, Nikki, and I hope you're having a blast in Europe!

Hi Nikki.. Just something I carry is a crank flashlight that also can charge my phone. I use to take a power bank like you but if I got lost or stuck out for days, the model I have uses solar as well as the crank to charge, plus it puts out a ton of light. Just a thought for you to be ready for the unexpected. Take care as always and be safe.
  • Really nice and informative review for a relative newbie. Appreciate it. You definitely altered my list of essentials.

Good advice for us. Using salt tablets made me think when I was in the coast guard in tropical areas the engine room got up to 150 degrees f , we had dispensers for salt tablets and unlimited red drink we called bug juice , necessary when humidity was 100%. Great expression on Campers face when you said “treats”. 👍😄🎩

She sure seems to be loving what she does and is putting out a lot of positive vibes for the rest of us to enjoy as we watch her adventures across America. I will be starting an epic trip of the western states in March, maybe I will cross paths with some of these nomads.

Great video! Thanks for the tips. There's so many options and no real right or wrong. Whatever works for your particular situation. I've just started hiking with my Jack Russel. You should try the Aussie Outback. Hopefully one day I get to hike in America someday. Enjoy your hikes and all the best with the channel. 0:53 😂

G’day Nikki. G’day Camper. Still rocking the great out doors eh? Yeah I dig that. But I have at times wondered what stuff you cram into your day pack. This vid should be very interesting mate. Love you guys heaps. Stay safe.👍🇦🇺😁❤️🌹☮️

“ Be Surprised “ is not the motto of the Boy Scouts. You have a well thought out day hike go-bag. Osprey is good stuff, too. Have you used any other brand backpacks?
  • @lindahunter6241
Hi Nikki. I’m new to your channel and for the past two days it’s all that I’ve been watching. Thank you for taking us along on you and Campers adventures. Have a safe trip you two.
  • Even as pretty as Nikki is, Camper is the star of this channel. That dog should be in television in some way. Commercials or a pet on some show. Camper steals every scene he is in.

No one is more organized than Nikki, makes my head spin. Guess if you manage to live in a Prius, stuffing a backpack comes easy. When Morgan gets that new Bronco you can show her out to max it out and maybe chomp carrots into a bag, hehee
  • @geruner
HEY ! I have that bandanna! Nothing like a paper map. Except in the rain. Pretty comprehensive collection. Being in several disasters provides a learning curve. GER aka LK

Thanks Nikki ... you have the best energy ever ... thank Camper D. for being his moms most amazing 4 legged body guard!
  • @scep8551
Ma’am, Does your emergency messager have an emergency locator beacon you can activate? If not recommend you get one as well. In case you are injured you might not be able to give coordinates verbally. Thank you for sharing!
  • @IndianHemlock
Nice video, it’s nice to see what other people are hiking with, or what’s important to them . I like your dog’s name, very unique
