Everyone wants to be a field tech until it's time to do field tech shit.

I gotta tell ya, it's nice watching someone else struggle for a change.
  • Not gonna lie, I couldn't tell the difference between the different types of steel sparks on the grinder.

The proper way would be. Lube up the pin than drop it in the dirt.

When your boss wonders why it took you all afternoon to stick a pin back in the hole. Looks easy, should be easy, not easy.

The likelihood of said grease gun being empty is in direct proportion to the distance or difficulty of extracting oneself from the position one crawled into and the proximity of a fresh cartridge.

I had a hearty chuckle at the end there. The combination of pure rage, and the desperation of a man miles past the end of his rope, with the empty grease gun being the last turd waffled into the treads of your boots on the eternal march to beer-thirty
  • I made it to the end and still couldn't figure out if this is a "Repair video", "Don't buy a John Deere" video, or a video about the Worst pin design in human history. Either way it's production value is great.

i love how grease just evaporates from a sealed gun hanging on the wall, but not out of the tube when its new

I'm glad you mentioned the very real danger of pieces of wire flying off the wire wheels when they're installed on a grinder. One day working in my shop I felt something in the roof of my mouth that was actually pricking my tongue. I got the nerve up to pull on it and out came about a 2" wavy piece of wire that could have only come from one place. To this day I'm amazed that it entered my mouth, embedded itself completely in the soft palate and I never felt a thing. I started getting a lot more serious about using safety squints too - I don't think I would have been so lucky had it been one of my eyeballs.
  • I thought I was the only person hoarding 95% empty oil quarts for some unknown future purposes, but Hot Damn we have something in common!! Keep your stick on the ice! Thank you as always, -CY Castor

Escalating is fun. I managed to break my internet, cable tv and water pipe all in one afternoon 😎

I had to laugh when you got out the enerpac. Made me think of my engine crane. The hardest part about using it every now and then is finding hydraulic oil for the blessed leaky beggar.
  • @anelson2000
The blue loctite at 8:10 was a nice touch. That pin won't be bothering you again!
  • You Sir, have no idea how refreshing it is to see a man of your caliber struggle just as much as the rest of us mere mortal folk. Cheers to ya! And thanks be for Natural Light!
  • @bonerici
I didn't realize pin repair would be a mini series. Can't wait for the next episode
  • I'm an operator in the winter and during the down time I wrench with the heavy mechanics..... nothing brings me more joy as when one of them grabs a grease gun that I know is out..... makes me smile every time....
  • @jeromej221
the perfect balance between a nudge and an act of war.well done, sir.
