  • My most recent "thrifty" thing was my aunt saved the wood fencing from the 200 foot long 6' N fence that was replaced. I wanted to fence the 40' section on the side of the house going into the backyard. I cut the tops into pickets and had to make different heights because of some rotten ends which I made into a slight "wave design" and a friend made an arbor for the entry and I used an old door (that was sitting in the garage) with a leaded stained glass window on top for the gate and there was even an 18"x48" window of the same leaded stained glass design that I inset into the fence next to the door. It looks so pretty when the morning sun is showing through...and it's at the side of the house that shows from the street. I'm very happy with it.

If you love dry flowers, plant yarrow and it is a perennial. It comes in a ray of different colors. Zinnias are an easy flower seed to grow, another one that is great dry. Beautiful simple makeover!
  • I have to say, you seem like the sweetest gal ever. You're not real fussy with your decor, it's very homey and livable, not to mention very pretty. It seems like a very safe loving place for your family. All of you are gorgeous! :) I love how you save money and repurpose things. I really enjoy your videos. Thanks so much for sharing your lives with us. God bless you~

I'm not surprised by the Scandinavian results...so fun! I love a cottage garden look so to save money in the garden I direct sow seeds like cosmos and snapdragons as they get really full and bloom all summer.

Oh when your little helped you make the mixture, his cute chubbie little fingers were so sweet! I miss those days. We are at the end of having those in our life till the grands start having babies. Such a sweet, sweet time. Your garden is so beautiful💜

The plate rack looks great there. Your gardens are beautiful. I love the video clip of your son’s little hands helping you in the kitchen.❤️
  • Those flower boxes you saw on Mackinac Island with the purple, light green and white combo were just beautiful! I noticed you put them in your video! When I was on the island, I fell in love with them, too!

Awe..Lovely garden entry. So cottagey. I swear, everything you touch turns just magical. Thank you for sharing your content with all of us Pine and Prospect groupies ☺️
  • A fun, easy perennial are dayliles. Once established they take care of themselves. They also are super easy to divide and spread around the garden. These days you can find growers online who offer endless different colors. One of my favorite perennials!

Hi Andrea, you are breath of fresh air! Don’t forget those cooled off berries are great with plain Jogurt or vanilla ice cream ! ❤️🇨🇦

I love your gardens! My mother passed away three years ago. I now live in her home and want to keep it looking alive with beautiful gardens just the way she had it. Sadly I never learned gardening from her because I was “too busy” doing my own things. Thank you for sharing your videos. They give me hope. 🥰

As a Floridian, I feel so envious of your weather this time of year. You can garden without dying of heat. Of course, I don’t understand how you can deal with such cold winters 😂 I’m with you on the mess from setting up the little pool in the backyard! So worth it 🥰
  • Such a lovely homey video, and I am hungry for BLTs now. My boys always loved the simple meals I made when out of dinner supplies: pancakes, tuna casserole, eggs etc. This year I am especially enjoying larkspur and poppies seeds sown on top of the snow in Feb/March. Try it next year! They are waving around with coreopsis and feverfew that we wintersowed.
  • I have some ferns in my garden that like to spread. My thrifty tip is to dig some of them up and put them in a pot on my deck.
  • Most gardeners love to share their produce with neighbors whether it’s fruit and vegetables or bulbs or dried plants for seeds. We used to have a neighborhood plant swap and that’s a great way to think of your neighbors. Your garden looks beautiful, Andrea! I love hostas but unfortunately, I cannot get them to grow well in our hot weather in Texas - you are fortunate to have them. Thanks for the free printable.

Andrea, I’m loving all the garden videos! We are working on ours and it’s so inspiring to see yours. It’s a process for sure but one day I want to have flowers and plants throughout my property. ❤
