Years late, but the most amazing thing is the fact that you had your daughter in the video!! And, she wasn't scared of anything. That means she has grown up doing this with you! Good work DAD!!

First & foremost, Kris, I continue to be impressed that you involve your young daughter in your outdoor activities!  This will bring you big dividends, down the road, as she grows into a young lady & thinks back to the times you & she spent, together!  There is quite a bit we can learn about life by simply spending time in God's Creation, as I'm sure you are well aware!  Thanks for performing the test with the onions, my fellow catfisherman!  Looks like you came up empty handed, regarding the tasty cats you were after, but you & your daughter made good use of your onions, during a nice shore lunch! We use leftover crawfish heads after we boil some. Works fantastic.

Thanks for the share. I grew up in south Texas with many hours of fishing for cat, and there was always this myth 'floating' around the cleaning tables. My grandfather always had his "Walt's" cheese bait ready to go, so we were never desperate enough to try it. Thanks for the recipe bit at the end.

My Dad used to take us fishing with my sister in tow. She was great at learning. Now, shes a grandmother and still has the energy of a teenager, apart from the fact that she was very successful at whatever she set her mind on. Keep the good job up.

Kris, I greatly admire your willingness to experiment with something as radical as using onions for bait. Sometimes we like to stay in our groove (rut?) and never try anything new, so we never learn anything new. I'll bet those left over onions were very tasty over the campfire! Good show!

My grandpa used to use onions all the time on his trot lines, they worked well for him.

I like to make a little hamburger on my hook.  Bread, lettuce, onion, tomato, cheese, bacon, beef & bread.  Catches a Whopper every time!

when no one is catching any fish I break out my mighty can of corn. people laugh, till I start reeling them in.

Heard about onions too. now I know. Good enough test for me because I can tell you know what you're doing. Keep up the experiments. Also just fun to watch :)
