Contrary to the other reply I believe it makes much more sense with a bow. Pizz versions sound way too chunky and not very smooth. After all, a bow is essentially breath. You are exuding Sax vibes, dude! Top notch
  • Very impressive. I’ve been struggling to get anywhere near Bird’s tempo on this head, playing it an octave lower than you do.
  • Nice dude, you're pretty on with the 8th note feel too. That's usually the toughest thing for classical players to learn from what I've noticed.
  • I’m sitting here expecting him to walk but no he goes ahead and plays the head with a bow. Did not know that was even possible

So epic... If only he'd kick into just a couple verses of Jaco's brilliant solo. Very inspiring!
  • I know you’re easily a professional, and it takes years to master an upright bass especially with a bow, but I just can’t disregard the fact you make it look like it’s so much easier to play than on an electric bass! Crazy stuff man, love this song and your content

Love this with a bow. The gliss. at the end of the diminished line toward the end of the head is cool to hear. You matched Bird's phrasing really nicely. Check out Stephane Grapelli if you want to dive further into swinging with a bow. He's the grandaddy.
  • Awesome stuff, love the mutual style respect among jazz and classical players.
  • That was amazing! I often hear classical musicians struggle with the eight note swing feel, but you nailed it! I would love to hear a solo too
  • Doubles beautifully with the alto! All of a sudden I'm getting a Gypsy jazz feel.
