I don’t know if you’ll see this comment but I literally could not lay, sit, stand, or sit. There was nothing I could do without pain. I’ve only done a couple of your sessions and I feel so great. Thank you for making this so easy to understand and follow and for saving my from so much pain!!

I know this video is old, and you probably have a lot of comments like this, but this has helped me so much. I have spent the last 3 1/2 years in so much pain, and the only solution I was given was pain medication. It turns out that i have a lot of hyper mobility in my joints, which has caused chronic sciatic pain. I'm only 25, but pain has defined the last few years of my life. I finally got help after fighting for too long to be taken seriously. No one believed I was in this much pain. I started refusing their pain meds and demanding help. I recently had an MRI confirming what I have been feeling, and I started physical therapy as well as being a candidate for SI injections. My first therapist did not empathize or realize that I was always in pain, and would not recommend anything other than medication to manage my pain. So, I decided enough was enough, and I found this video. Your video has literally changed my life. I can now manage my pain and have made a 25% improvement with muscle mobility and strength in just 3 months. I am doing great with my new pt and I went for my first run this morning in 3 1/2 years. A few months ago, I had days where I could barely walk. Thank you for sharing your knowledge with us.

Since my daughter was born one and a half years ago I have been neglecting my body. I have really bad sciatic pain to the point where I couldn’t move during pregnancy and I just tended to avoid movement and hope it gets better. Sleep deprivation, night nursing, etc really took a toll on my body. I did this session and I suddenly started crying in the end from relief but also from the sad realization that I haven’t been giving my body the attention it so desperately needs. I never comment but I just wanted to say thank you ❤
  • This aged well. I had unbearable debilitating sciatica pain out of nowhere - this has pretty much solved the issue. I can’t express my gratitude ♥️
  • Tonite my sciatica was so painful, I couldn't even walk or sit or lie down. I actually started to have a panic attack because I couldn't think of what to do. And then I remembered YWA and how Adriene has helped me when I was suffering from so many other ailments. I was sobbing when I put this video on...thankfully, the deep yoga breathing worked to soothe the sobs, as well. I was in so much pain, at first, it was difficult to even lie on the mat. But, I did the poses as best I could. And kept breathing...listening to Adriene's calming voice. By the end, my pain had subsided. I am truly so so grateful for this practice and for Adriene. 🙏🏻

28 year old male here. I always thought yoga was a bit of a joke but after suffering a si joint injury 2 years ago i have tried basically everything to help the daily pain including over 12 sessions with a chiropractor. I recently 3 weeks ago took a chance with yoga doing 30min-1hour a day and i must say it is has had the largest effect so far on my body i can only imagine what a year of this will do for me. Thanks Adriene for access to this new world i have discovered. PS yoga is not a joke :) lol

It's been a while since there have been any posts on this one, but my friend recommended Adriene. Partly for her quirky random little comments and positive vibe, but also for her damn good sessions. I've been suffering with sciatica for 6 months, sometimes it's been crippling and my unusually upbeat style has been getting a battering. At one point I couldn't even sit on a bar stool!!! But this workout (and some over the counter painkillers, not gonna lie) have actually started to make a difference. I can get through the day without the painkillers now and my upbeatness is coming back, being able to move about better and walk without pain. I'm a 45 year old bloke, I cannot bend anything like Adriene and I have "bits" that make some of these exercises a little more restrictive shall we say, Lol. But the spirit and knowledge she brings will get you through no problems. I recommend this guys, and thank you Adriene. Have a great day everyone. Nathan 🙏

The doctor prescribed some painkiller injections for 5 days and the pain was still there, unbelievably- I repeated your exercises and I feel so relieved - thank you so much for your help, god bless you and your loved ones

Adriene: Thank you. I've been dealing with a herniated disc for almost two months. It's been severe enough so that I am (still) unable to drive, walk, sit, stand; do much of anything without assistance or constant "speaking" pain. Yesterday afternoon I received epidural steroids and this morning I felt slight improvement. The physical pain hasn't been the worst of it; it's the emotional struggle exhaustion that accompany constant pain and limited activity that have really been getting to me. The inside of my head and heart have been telling me to return to yoga. I was an avid practitioner for years and had stopped about two years ago for many reasons. This morning something told me "Google yoga for sciatica" and up popped this video. I cried half the time from relief, and laughed because you're super funny, which I so appreciate. I had to modify my practice because I'm still deep in recovery, but your encouragement and modifications throughout made it doable. I actually surprised myself. Your flow allowed me to stretch in ways I have not been able to since the onset. This practice was exactly what I was looking for today (and then some) and it marks my first attempt to really put the self back in self care. Thank you for being lovely and for providing this wonderful video. Namaste.
  • I am a 72 yr old Parkinson patient. Been doing for three years and this is the best. I have sciatica pain for over a yr., and drs just keep on giving injections and pain pills. Your teaching is very professional and helpful. Thank you, so much!!!
  • @morganrae1680
I seriously don't know what I would do without your video. I've been using it for 6 years to manage chronic sciatica from hyper mobility. I'm not pain free, but it's manageable and I can keep up with my kids. You truly made a huge difference in my life. Thank you ❤️

There really is a yoga for everything. I love how each time I search your classes for something specific happening in life, I can always find the perfect class for it ❤️

I just cried whilst doing that last pose. A month ago, I couldn’t sleep due to the sciatic pain. And that last move with the twist was unthinkable. But today, I just did it. Without any pain at all! I’m so in awe of this, Adriene. Thank you so much for helping me and so many others to heal. 🙌✨❤️

Today sciatic pain hit me at work and I spent most of the day almost in tears because of how frustrated and angry I was at my body. This sequence has immediately made me feel so much better physicially, but also more loving and graceful towards my broken body that's trying its best. Thank-you Adriene, this work that you do makes the lives of so many people so much better. <3
  • How many times have you heard "What's wrong with your leg? I thought it was your back." This routine helped me physically and these comments helped me emotionally. I want to thank Adriene and all of the people here who understand.
  • @sephrider
I have done this 2 times now. The pain relief and release I get is almost unbelieveable. Thank you so much Adriene.

For anyone reading the comments - I have been through the yoga gambit videos online, beginner classes, I've even tried senior classes (I'm only 39) and everything has been way to intense. I've had really tight hamstrings and low flexibility since I was a kid. This video was still challenging but I still made it through (shaking legs and all). The biggest thing is I didn't feel defeated, embarrassed, or like giving up at any point. This is going to be my morning video for the next 12 month as I work on regaining my body after 4 terrible years of injuries. Thank you Adriene for making this video and bringing your humor into it.
  • I think Adrienne is fantastic. Sciatic pain exercises so good and the video for panic attacks. She also has a very calming/soothing voice which helps immensly
  • @TheCarolJean62
This is amazing. I could barely walk because of hip and back pain due to sciatica. Completing these yoga stretches immediately allowed me to walk normally with NO pain. It's a miracle! Thank you! Thank you! I love the work you do!!!

I'm a marathon runner who suffers from sciatica and L5-S1 issues. My go to is always acupuncture but with being in Covid quarantine, the offices are closed. I do yoga but found my pain was getting worse with it. I googled 'Yoga for back pain" and your videos came up. I am soooo glad. After just 2 days - I went from barely moving to now finding some relief. Thank you. I am going to keep doing your routines!
