   • Which USB Microphone Should You Buy??...

Setting up OBS Studio mic settings and mic filters is something that might look complicated at first, but which is very straightforward when breaking it down. In this video, we'll add the 3-band equalizer filter, a compressor filter, expander filter, a limiter, we'll also remove background noise in OBS and at the end I will show you how to use OBS filters on Discord or in-game. All of these obs mic filters are the same in Streamlabs OBS, so you could follow this video for that program too.

IF YOU ARE HAVING TROUBLE WITH USING THE EFFECTS IN OTHER PROGRAMS: 1: download virtual cable ( 11:47) 2: enable ‘monitor and output’ for your mic in the advanced audio settings ( 06:17 ) 3: set ‘cable input’ as your monitor device in your obs audio settings ( 12:10 ) 4: select ‘cable output’ as your mic in whichever program ( 12:55 )
  • My audio was terrible and I was too unfamiliar with all these settings to figure out why. This was such a clear and straightforward video to follow. Thank you so much for taking the time to make it!
  • @Guinness_Synd
Your content has really made getting set up as a newer streamer so much easier. Keep up the great work
  • @umtalderafael
This video is a gem, every other mic and OBS filter tutorial they just introduce the filters and none of them actually know what the parameters do. You explain how to adjust everything and how can you make things work perfectly, I could not be more grateful, thank you! And keep up with this excelent work 😁
  • @kabobawsome
First time I have ever seen a filter tutorial like this BOTH explain what everything does so you have a grasp on adjusting it yourself AND gives you sensible defaults. Thank you so much.
  • @GameJonez
I've watched several videos addressing this problem - not just quality but especially noise suppression, and yours is BY FAR the best I've seen. Liked and subbed. Thanks man. You made my $50 Blue Snowball sound like a $200 mic. Fantastic!
  • @Zidakuh
Hey man! Great video like last time. Everything looks and sounds good this time around, and you do a really good job of explaining what every thing does. Even a complete beginner should be able to get a decent sounding stream with this. I have no reason to expand on audio processing this time. Keep up the good work!
  • @szyl
This is the perfect tutorial, thank you. I've watched probably like 30 videos to this point and this is the ONLY one that worked for me and explained everything in a non-audiophile way.
  • @nanark
I've watched a lot of videos about sound mixing in OBS, and you are by far the best and precise explanation available. Thank you!
  • @internetoldie
I have an expensive mic - but my audio on stream compared to my video feeds was just, meh. This video allowed me to final the flaws in my OBS setup and now, my mic sounds like honey. You saved me from impulse buying a new mic, and for that, you have my thanks! Sometimes we forget the little things, but the little things make a huge difference!
  • @paparoach007
Just wanted to say thank you for sharing an updated video on this, the other video was quite a long time ago but it still holds well even in 2023. After following along with the video and tweaking with my microphone I did a couple of streams and people in my chat and my community have said that the quality is a lot better or in their words "it's like you've bought a new freakin' microphone!" and I don't blow peoples ear drums any more every time I scream or laugh which is a big improvement! :D
  • @High-lyMotivated
Thank you for this video! I went from never making a video in my entire life about 8 months ago to being on my 112th video and getting the sound right and audio synced has been the hardest part of figuring all of this out. Thank you for such a straightforward video. I can't wait to apply these settings and see how it affects my next video ❤
  • @cooper7931
Every time I worried about you not talking about certain details, you immediately delivered right after. So helpful!
  • @foolio42
This video strikes an excellent balance between explanation and instruction. I now not only sound much better but I have a basic understanding of what each of the filters do. Thank you very much!
  • @PeachElixir
Just really wanted to say thank you for this video. You explained everything super clearly and the instructions of what all the filters and setting do helped me to get set up so thank you again man. Amazing job!
  • Been really trying to up my audio game especially being in 4K lately. This video does a great job unlike others in explaining the aspects of things like thresholds and gains detailing exactly what they do. Thank you @TheVideoNerd!
  • @deadspace2595
the speaking correctly into the mic is such a no brainer at first glance, but then it turns out that the reason my mic sounded muddy asf is exactly because of that, and the quality was way better at an angle from the top. No one else bothers to mention this advice so ty
  • I used the last video a few days back and then this one dropped 7 hours ago. These videos have really helped me and you explain things so well. Thanks for the quality content 👌
  • Your content has really made getting set up as a newer streamer so much easier. Keep up the great work!!!
  • @roiferreach100
This is the best OBS tutorial I watched so far, I am terrible with adjusting these sounds settings, but your tutorial is really clear and easy to follow. Thanks a Mil.
