“Make organizing as easy as putting it down” is the most profound thing ANYONE has EVER SAID about organization.

Also want to add: please don't ever quit YouTube!!! I follow tons of cleaning channels but you are the only one who is EXACTLY like me in my ladybug superslob struggle!!!! All the others are naturally perfectly clean and organized moms, except for Dana and she mostly does podcast style stuff. Yours are my absolute all time fave and truly HELP ME more than any other!!! You are my Peter Walsh!!!!! ❤️❤️❤️

Here's why I love you: You make me feel like no matter what I'm "normal"... Wether I'm getting rid of crap or hiding dirty dishes and forgetting about them haha
  • I thought I was a visual organizer, but since I rid myself of excess stuff, and freed up a lot of storage space, I discovered I actually like things hidden for the most part. There are a few things that need to be out so I don’t forget about them, but this is an exception rather than the norm.
  • Cas: “Maybe it’s your keys that have a hook, you just put them on the counter instead...” Me: (Picks up keys I used yesterday, hangs them on hook)🤦🏻‍♀️

I am a visual organizer, but I have to put my arts and crafts stuff in boxes - and sometimes these boxes in cupboards. So what I do is simple: I photograph the open boxes and when they are in the cupboard I photograph that as well. And then I transfer this photo information onto my computer and meticulously name every photo with box number and which cupboard it is in. That is a giant task, but I only have to do it once and update it occasionally. And saves so much time when I don't have to search for things - and clutter everything up in the process.

Love how Dana's latest book was one of the items "randomly" lying there on the counter 😉 It's wonderful to see how you Cas, Dawn and Dana have come together in such a beautiful way. I learn so much from all 3 of you. Thank you ❤️
  • Ouch, yeah we have been slobs for many years. We’re working on it, there’s some hoarding tendencies to battle through. Your videos are very helpful and encouraging to us. x
  • @magietagie
These are some great tips! It’s hard when you don’t want the clutter to be somewhere it is but accepting that it will end up there anyway is an important step, so better to make a home for it! I am taking that tip to heart!

That was really good advice, let Your clutter dictate the type of organisation you need!! Yes this is really helpful, as I’ve been stuck for a while trying to decide what type of organiser I should purchase when my clutter needs to tell me!! Revelation! Thank U watching from UK, always fun ! 👏👏🌟🌟👍🤓
  • OMG, I have also been there with hiding dirty dishes and then melting plastic bowls, it's so bad! Glad I am not alone. You are awesome Cas!
  • “I’m a recovering super slob” haha you’re so funny! I love the folded file folder thing for the wall! Awesome idea
  • We brought our city trash totes into the garage so we can easily take our trash out of the house and put it into a conveniently placed trash tote. The day before garbage pickup day, my google calendar reminds me to open the electric garage door and roll the wheeled garbage tote down to the curb! It works for me!

I too, am a slob. There, I admit it. You made more sense explaining the types of clutter than anyone I've ever watched. You gave terrific ideas! I use an organizer in my car for, of all things, lunch. When I travel I don't like to stop for lunch and the organizer contains my sandwich, chips, napkins, etc. I don't find french fries on the floor any longer. lol
  • Cas, your an inspiration to me. I love that you admit that you were a slob. That is where I'm at. I got the visible area of my house clean but all the rooms with doors are a hot mess. I can't seem to get the motivation to clean and organize. I've kept it clean for over a week now and I'm so proud of myself. I just need you here to help me out!
  • @arashy
Yep. Have it all. 😆 1. Getting better at lazy clutter. 2. Working on excess clutter but VERY slowly. 3. Items without a home… Took your advice and created a Sunday morning basket – WONDERFUL for keeping the paper clutter more organized.
  • @lauragreen4899
I love your honest transparency....."we can recover". Thanks for all the good tips and help. You are the best!
  • Definitely ADHD!!! I've struggled with the same things my whole life exactly as you described at the end. It's not lazy, it's ADHD! There's a big difference. Our brains work differently! I wasn't diagnosed until I was 33 and it was a huge eye opener!

I suffer from all 3 kinds of clutter. I'm a new subscriber to your channel and I need to watch every single one of your videos ☺
