Imagine living somewhere where you have to put A PORTRAIT over your own life and protect it until your death. That's crazy man
  • @andrewyang1994
For those who are confused, the North Korean girl escaped and is currently living in South Korea. There are about 30000 (correct me if I am wrong) North Korean defectors in South Korea.

This just makes me realize how many good and kind people must be living there and doing their best to get by. Western media is often unfair to the North Korean people as a whole. I hope Hyun Kyung is living a good life in South Korea.

Crazy, the old subways in Berlin looked exactly the same.
  • @Mangafan47
These are the old subway trains from East Germany. I always thought it's just a joke, that they sold them to North Korea.

In all honesty, that subway...looks a lot like the NYC subway.

Wouldn't be surprised if there was an official NK Tiktok channel. North Korea used to promote their propaganda on YouTube too on the "Echo of Truth" channel.

They inspect the dust on the frame? And you have to have cash to bribe them (in an EXTREMELY impoverished country) to avoid going to a reeducation camp? Did I understand that right? "Training center..."
  • @MWCG
It's really cool to see to young Koreans from different parts getting along so well

This was both fascinating and lovely to see the interaction between the two girls. One of the most interesting and genuinely insightful videos about North Korea I’ve ever seen. Thank you for sharing!

We had something similar like "crowd dance" in ex-GDR. Every Saturday we had school too, but only half as long as in the week, and everyone had to be there on the schoolyard 7'o clock 30 in the morning. All pupils had to stand in formations and sing the national hymn before the regular school started at 8'o clock. That happened every Saturday in every school in ex-GDR. The North-Korean subway is a former ex-GDR subway by the way. As teenagers we did making fun with jumping out of the incoming subway when it slowed down. Sadly it's impossible to do so anymore with newer subways. :) EDIT: It's crazy to watch for me, since it feels like a travel back in time.
