In this video, we dive deep into one of Dolly Parton's most outrageous and memorable stories from her early career. We explore how a young Dolly, just starting to make waves in the country music scene, found herself in a series of misunderstandings during her first trip to New York City with her friend Judy Lane.
From being kicked out of their hotel room to wandering the streets and being approached by men who thought they were "for sale," Dolly's adventure in the Big Apple was anything but ordinary. We recount how she handled the situation with her characteristic wit and bravery, even pulling out a gun to defend herself.
But this video isn't just about one wild night in New York. We also delve into the origins of Dolly's iconic style, tracing its influences from the "loose women" in her hometown to the pages of Frederick's of Hollywood catalogs. We explore how her bold fashion choices sometimes clashed with her family's expectations and how she remained true to herself despite criticism.
We take a journey through the evolution of Dolly's style over the decades, from her DIY makeup days to her current status as a fashion icon with a warehouse full of rhinestone-studded outfits. We examine the impact of her image on her career and her fans, and how her unique style has become an integral part of her enduring appeal.
Through it all, we celebrate Dolly Parton's authenticity, resilience, and unwavering commitment to being herself – rhinestones, big hair, and all.

…real Dolly fans know her truth; she’s all good.
-
She said herself it costs a lot to look that cheap

Here on easy tennessee, I'm about half hours drive from where Dolly was, she is considered a favorite daughter of the state. I think Dolly without the fashion she wears just wouldn't bee the Dolly we've all come to love and hear sing. Dolly seems to be nothing short of a force of nature. She is incredible.

I love her style, but more importantly I have always loved Dolly❤
-

-
I love the way she looks. She’s a real person a real lady.
-
I love dolly’s music and she as good and beautiful person and she sings or write as wonderful as she is 🎉❤👍
-
I’ve heard that story many times but don’t recall that she was humiliated given the fact that she patterned her look after the “cheap” influence. It takes a lot to humiliate her 😍
-
Even in these soft day's... People know the truth... Dolly, Always a fan forever a fan.....
-
She never was one. But, she played one in "The Best Little W-House In Texas". BTW, a great film .
-
She wasn't humiliated, she thought it was funny.

-
Yes Vary True 😍💨 ! I am still Figure Ing That out .. Still, God bless her (❤❤❤) .
-
What a legend!
-
Beautiful lady by the way
-
Not surprised

Dolly we love you but at your age don't you just won't to not wear so much makeup and all those tight uncomfortable outfits tone it down just a bit
