I used to work as a court appointed lawyer representing children in truancy cases. Kamala said in her book that she sought state-wide office in California in order to implement a plan to tackle truancy which included sending parents to jail when their kids skipped school. Some of my truancy clients’ parents were sent to jail for a few days. In every case it was by far the WORST possible decision the court could have made! Some single Moms lost their jobs, at least in part, bc of missing work while in jail; this injected far more stress, chaos and desperation into already complete dumpster fire family situations… (See video @3:05)
