  • My Doctor is a Professor of Neuroscience at a large University in America. He was impressed with this study, I suffer Long Covid from Delta last October. He put me on 1,800MG of NAC in split doses daily, and 3000-4000MG of Glycine to be taken with the NAC same time. Alot of my Back, Joint, Muscle pain is gone now. The Glycine he said at 3000-8000MG really calms the Brain, he was right, I can feel the calmness.     I had irregular heart beat and was put on 50mg Metoprolol per day. Even so, some days my pulse would still beat irregular. It was frightening actually. Forget how and why, but I started taking NAC 1000mg supplement only once a day. 2 months later I notice my pulse is always regular, so I reduced Metoprolol by half, and for 6 months my pulse never miss a beat. The dose recommend on the NAC bottle is 3 times what I take. Thinking now I will stop Metoprolol completely. Maybe my heart just comes good on its own or maybe the NAC... cant be sure. I am thinking the NAC reduce my blood pressure which in turn helps my heart beat. I am 72 and always worked hard as a Plumber and drank a lot of booze in the old days. Now a reformed drinker and smoker and have a healthy respect for God.
  • Been taking NAC for 6 months. I was 50 years old but since starting NAC I've lost years, feeling and looking younger. Unfortunately I'm now 8 years old and can no longer drive....thanks🤷🏼‍♂️

  • Been on 600 mg. NAC and 500mg. Glycine daily at night for two weeks. Lost 10 pounds. WAKE up hungry. Double my energy and concentration. A home run as far as I am concerned.     I have been talking it since the pandemic started. I had horrible uncontrollable asthma and was taking super strong steroids. I started 1000 mg 3x a day NAC and in months I did not need an inhaler or steroids. I stopped Nac and each time I felt my lungs weaken and need inhaler. Now I'm back on it breathing beautifully by the grace of God

  • Thank you Dr. Stanfield for opting for a community funded research and therefore having that amazing freedom to be unbiased, and to not have to walk on eggs as it were, around what large biomedical companies dictated to be "the science". Scientific research needs to be unaffected by politics, and systems of regulation and funding which are poorly set up resulting in incentivizing managing the symptoms and not treating the molecular causes of conditions. The work you do on proper informing of people on molecular biology and gerontology is commendable in itself, too. Wishing you all the best, and to hit that mark for funding of your own research.
  • mmm, thanks for the understanding around why we shouldn't mess directly with glutathione regulation and instead focus on providing the building blocks. I had never thought of Reductive stress, but makes a lot of sense.

    The whole principle of allowing the balance of the body to maintain itself by feeding it precursors is quite thought-provoking when focusing on other ailments.
  • I started taking NAC during 2020. A doctor from Med Cram, Dr Sheult, pondered the health of taking NAC, so if you got covid, you could fight it. Along with vitamin D. I have been taking it ever since, I am 60. I have lost 35 pounds. With potty training my dog, walked a lot. Also started putting a squeezed lemon in my large water bottle. All the above caused me to lose that much weight. I am 60, post menopausal, on Hormone replacement therapy. Go figure, you can lose weight after MENOPAUSE.
