French Revolutionaries: "How many people should we execute?" Robespierre: "Yes"
  • Imagine being a French soldier and hearing, " hoot hoot" across the fields.
  • I personally like how serious he gets when it comes absolute tragic events, like he'll be silly about everything else but then when horrifying massacres come up, they'll use the art at the time instead of using the animation style

King and Queen: disguise as peasants King and Queen: FUCK IT, THE CARRIAGE COMES TOO
  • Fun Fact: Fights would often break out between those meant to die by guillotine, but not for the reason you may think. These fights were to decide who would go first, which was to be desired. After just a few drops, the blade of the guillotine would become dull and require multiple drops to fully decapitate someone, which was, as you would imagine, extraordinarily painful

i think the fact that france was at war with most of europe and had a lot of revolutions and still survived and started pummeling the allies might be one of the greatest military feats in all of history

"you can make a religion out of this" "no don't"

Robespierre: “TO THE GUILLOTINE” Royal Tax Collector: “Oh your getting sent to the guillotine? Yeah there’s a tax for that”
  • 8:45 fun fact: Louie actually did try to give a speech before he died, but was executed before he could. The song Viva La Vida is a interpretation of what the speech might have been.
  • Fun fact: The origin of the terms "Left" and "Right" originated from the National Assembly, where the Radicals all sat on the left, while the Moderates all sat on the right.
  • Oversimplified: has two different sponsors on two videos This enraged Skillshare, who punished him severely.
  • French Revolutionaries: "Did you do it?" Robespierre: "Yes." French Revolutionaries: "What did it cost?" Robespierre: "Everything. And my head."

I love how oversimplified turns an incident of Marie Antoinette having a boat as hair, into making her hair an AT-AT
  • @TravisBroski
Fun Fact: Before Marie Antoinette was executed, she accidentally stepped on the executioner’s shoes and apologized to him for it.
  • @Eantrin
A bit of poetic justice for Robespierre's death is he tried to shoot himself to escape the Guillotine, but the shot went through his jaw instead, silencing him for the rest of his life.
