My dad would tell you he won't walk across the street to watch Hank Jr but would drive to the Grand Old Opry any time to watch Hank Sr.

What a loss to the world when Hank Williams died. I believe people will be listening to Hank for years to come. There’s no one else like him. And there never will be.

I'm not even close to this era but I have much respect for Hank Williams. Beautiful music.
  • I was 5 years old when Hank played this show. This music was always playing at our house. I remember sitting with my Dad in our '56 Ford, listening to Cash sing Teenage Queen. It was coming in, late in the evening, from some crackly old radio station somewhere. Whenever I think about those times, I can see it perfectly. It's a beautiful thing! This world could be so much better, if everyone would just stop, and listen.😁

This song means a great deal to me. This same year, my father entered a radio singing contest in Canada singing this same song and won the contest. The prize was to cut a 78 record, so he played this song on the A side and another H.W. song on the B side. Unfortunately, the record did not survive the elements of time, but my father continued singing his songs the rest of his life.

Hank was an absolute giant. Wrote so many great songs in such a short period of time. RIP

What a crying shame country radio doesn't play any of Hank's songs...🥺 😫...

Sad there is so little footage of Hank Williams performing live.

He was completely lit up playing better than most sober people.

The world can never know what it lost with Hank Williams. To call him the Hillbilly Shakespeare is truly fitting.
  • Hard to believe Hank Williams went nearly 8 months without another televised appearance.
  • Hank Williams Sr was an amazingly talented songwriter and performer
