Sri Lanka Style Double Slingshot (Double Bow Slingshot)

Published 2014-11-14
My version of Sri Lanka Slingshot, I added a second bow! Also weaved my own twig pouch.

The great thing is that two weak 20lb or 30lb slingshot bows are good enough to get squirrels, rabbits, turkey, pheasant, duck, quill, raccoon, porcupine, and other small game. So this technique is awesome for bundle bows or weak bows.

But it is also powerful enough for deer if using arrows, simply slide the pouch down near the hand hold and add an arrow guide to the hand hold. Perfect for glass arrow heads, metal arrow heads, or flint napped arrow heads., or wooden arrow heads for small game.

Important: If/when using two bows of different poundage, you need to adjust the poundage. for weaker bow you want to adjust string so it is smaller. For stronger bow adjust so it is weaker, which means a longer bow string, you want to even everything out so that they are pulling/shooting at about the same poundage/pull.

I truly believe that this skill/bow is perfect for those just beginning in bow making and are prone to making weak bows or bundle bows, or those made/created in a survival situation that come out weak, since this method just about doubles your poundage and makes them strong enough to hunt deer or other large game with when using arrows, or fine as rock slingshots when hunting small game.

The Bows only took about two hours each to make when using dead limbs. The Rock pouch only took about an hour, and to make the double bow support/braces/knotches only took about two hours. So very ideal in a survival situation.

Sorry for the clapping again. I clap to sink audio when video editing, I decided to not edit and just uploaded video as is.

That's a really cool design.  Very impressive.  Seems like something that you could get really accurate with after some practice.  Awesome.  I've never seen anything like that.  Thanks for sharing.

Thanks guys. It is so much better then the original bow slingshot, as you can see. Pouch slides, so all you would have to do is make an arrow rest on hand hold. It is easier or more common for most people to make weak bows, so this doubles the poundage if someone wishes to make quick bundle bows or weak bows, strong enough for Deer hunting. As is, using as a rock sling it is strong enough to get rabbits, squirrels, turkey, pheasants, partridge, or other small game animals. With arrow and metal/glass arrow heads it would be strong enough for Deer, even using in an unattended  bow trap.

The double bow slingshot design I was imagining was diffrent than this. The one i was imaging was one where each bow string was connected instead
