Thanks Mike C , I did all those things come to find out, if you are less than 20 meters from where you took off it will land from where the drone was at, hence if you see it keeps wanting to drop, I finally took it high enough and then brought it me and let it land on it own. I was told this by several people in a phantom 3 forum and it is in the manual
