Release date 2015.
DJI released its first set of Phantom 3 drones, Advanced & Professional. Soon after they released the Phantom 3 Standard. 12 mega pixel camera, 3 axis gimbal, Full HD, Jpeg, RAW, range 1000m and a flight time of 25 minutes. Bought mine brand new for £619.

In this video I show you how to use “RTH” or “Return to Home” mode, flying in a straight line and turning the drone.

In the next video to follow, I will show you the “RTH (Return to Home)” mode using the DJI Go app.

    Massive help, thank you. Complete newbie to drones and purchased a second hand one yesterday. Set it up, flew it today, pressed RTH and panicked when it flew up, not realising that's what it's supposed to do 🤦🏻‍♀️

    I'll be using my old Phantom 3 Standard for an aerial video of a wedding tomorrow and one of my concerns is the RTH feature which I haven't used yet. Add that to the fact that I almost lost the same drone when one of its propellers broke off while I'm landing it. Good thing DJI repaired it free of charge after I sent them the nav data that shows the drone is about to land when it happened. Anyway, a brilliant explanation. I enjoyed the whole 16 minutes of it.

    Great video, believe it or not I bought the Phantom 3 std in 2016 and am first unboxing it now, don't ask why! do i have to update firmware on controller or drone first? Thanks!

    15:38 Thank you, Sir. Wonderful video. You are an expert in DJI Phantom 3 Standard! However, I got a problem with my P3S which none could help me to resolve: the aircraft is fully functional BUT all camera related buttons vanished from the display. Thus I cannot take any photos or shoot a video. Another problem - “gimbal status - gimbal disconnected”! Cannot fix it. Though the gimbal and camera are working well delivering a good quality picture. Please help!!! Gregory California

    Secondly I live in a suburban community, houses about 50 feet apart, no power lines, flat terrain. I just want to make a test of straight vertical up and looking down to me, no travel, just vertical up 50 feet, can this be accomplished? Thanks !
