  • Yes I know this is a bit long and filmed in 2 parts, but there was too much to say! I hope sharing my experience has helped you make your decision in moving. And if you are already here, what is your perception of Berlin?
  • German here. Like your attitude Your German pronunciation is good enough to understand you. The rest is simply practice. Don't be afraid, no one will blame you if you make mistakes.
  • You are a breath of fresh air! I really appreciate the way that you delivered this guide to Berlin. It was authentic! I loved that you didn't have any gimmicky music. Thank you!! I don't know much about you but it's clear that health and well-being is at the forefront of what you do. I'm a Londoner. I visited Berlin twice. The first time I encountered the directness you spoke of and didn't get it. I really felt like I got the vibe a bit better when I went with my partner for second time 3 years ago and we absolutely loved it. Ever since then, I day dream about what it would be like to live there. All that you mention about London are feelings I have had about the city for many many years. I did the Erasmus Programme many years ago and on return to London the daily grind felt offensive to me in terms of the lack in quality of living for the average person. I tolerated this for years. In the meantime I made the most of my city. Loving it for all that it offers in the arts&culture, the amazing access to the anything in the world. The Brexit vote has done many things, too many to mention here, but for me it has made me question my place here in London. For me, it's not about the grass being greener. It's more about just simply living. I am glad things are working out for you there. Keep up the excellent work!
  • Not sure why you're having problems with your german. Sounded pretty good to me. Yes, you have an accent, but who cares? Some confidence, please.
  • @thkempe
Congrats! In 6:15 that was a PERFECT German "ch". Many English speakers struggle with this, except Scots.
  • Hey! Fellow Londoner here. Moved to Berlin in 2018 too. Have to say, I agree with all your views of the city and love your attitude. Good luck with everything!
  • This was so helpful, and you seem to be such a sweet person! Thank you for putting together this video. So glad you decided to move out of London to thrive and bloom in Berlin!

Wonderful! One of the best videos about city, culture comparison that I've watched. I'm happy to find your channel.
  • I am German and your German was totally intelligible! Keep going :) I appreciate people coming here and wanting to learn the language so so much <3
  • Excellent video, s2 - Especially for the beginning where you can be whatever you want without judgments!
  • So lovely to see how you smile when you talk about the nature ... yeah Berlin can be very healing ❤❤❤
  • Your voice is soooo calming! You should have a podcast :D

Absolutely loved this, mainly for the fact that you truthfully gave your true authentic opinion of the city in comparison to London. I’m from Manchester but studied German at uni, and I still want to move to the city at some point. I have been over and have been to Berghain, and you’re not missing much!
  • wow i have watched so many berlin vids.. this was one of the most detailed ones.. really nice job :)
  • i am moving to munich in february and this just gave me the push to have more confidence in myself and trust in the new phase in my life :) thank u
  • Thanks a lot!! this is exactly the kind of comparison I was looking for

I like you. I really do. Because of the choices you made for your life ( like moving to another country or city) . That's a big choice to make which at the end will define your life. 👍❤👍
