My assumption for why you can’t use the crucifix on Timothy is that he’s just a spider, not a demonic entity or anything, just a spider.

You can actually use Crucifix to Void to prevent you from taking damage, as we know void gives random damage from 0 to even 100, Idk if this is useful or not but I think using Crucifix to Void like that is silly unless you want to not received damage from the Void
