Hamas leader Haniyeh: "We are prepared to pay this price" for Palestinian cause

Ismail Haniyeh, the head of Hamas’s political bureau, was assassinated in an air strike in Tehran. In a previous interview with Al Jazeera, Haniyeh had spoken about his role saying: “We feel the weight of trust and responsibility; this is a responsibility that comes with a price. And we are prepared to pay this price as well, martyrdom for Palestine.”

Hamas reported that Haniyeh “died as a result of a treacherous Zionist raid on his residence in Tehran.” Israel has not commented on the incident.
