It's weird how most of us living on Earth will never meet or even acknowledge each other's existence. For example, if you're reading my comment; this is probably the first and last time you'll ever see me.

This animation is just godlike. Screw Infographics. This is the true Infographics of youtube. Actual good animation with effort put into it.
  • Imagine that in 12,000 years, the internet still exists and was never wiped, so you’d go onto youtube, and see β€œpublished 12,000 years ago” like jeez. We wet our pants when we see 12 years ago.

"Hey, come take a look at this." "What is it?" "You know those tiny hard things that grow on plants?" "Yeah." "Well last year, I stuck a couple in the ground, and now when I come back to check on them, there are plants there! The same plants that grow the same tiny hard things!" "Huh, that's interesting." "Do you know what this means?" "No." "Even MORE tiny hard things!"
  • " dead kings bragging on pieces of stone..." I like that. Well put.
  • I love how this channel almost always celebrates humanity and the accomplishments we've made! I know many scientists just focus on the bad aspects of humanity and end up pessimistic. I love your work so much!

This video really made me take pride in being a human. Sure we are full of imperfections. Sure a lot of us are cruel. Sure we had wars and fought each other. But the fact that this species, which is not the strongest, or the largest, or the fastest, managed to accomplish such outstanding feats in just 12,000 years is truly astonishing. We might even be able to change our fate which the dinosaurs couldn't. In the past 4 billion years, life has done stunning feats. But if I were to say which of them stands out the most, it would be the evolution of humans. Let's cherish our 12,000 years of achievement and hope that we keep doing amazing feats in the future.

Thank you, humans from the past and the future. You made me walk again when I destroyed my knee. Cured me with the medicines you developed a long time ago every time I got sick. Made technology that allowed me to meet amazing people from the other side of the globe. Made outstanding videos like this for other humans to enjoy. I try to contribute as much as possible to our technological world, doing my best at work, and helping other humans when possible, although its so small compared to everything else you did for me. I will be gone in a few decades, but you will keep going, you will end suffering one day, expand your realm to other worlds, even reach the stars of the sky.
  • @Sciencerely
Being a human biologist, I think its crazy how the emergence of human civilizations shaped our DNA as well. To give an example, humans (like many other mammals) used to be lactose intolerant upon adulthood. However, the domestication of animals led to the regular consumption of milk roughly 20000 ago. At that time, a mutation occurred which made people lactose tolerant and this mutation was so beneficial during periods of starvation that it soon spread across populations making the majority of people with European descent lactose tolerant today (I made a video about this). Human evolution is so fascinating!

  • From humble beginnings we have come far. That's why every person must strive to create a better tomorrow. Our individual stories are one of many, but the collective story of humanity is glorious, and we are all part of it

videos like this are really good for me to watch whenever I feel too cynical and pessimistic about humanity, I love the colourful and detailed inventive animation style too
