You and I both saw Eren get taken out in the climactic finale to attack on Titan, putting an end to the devastation of the rumbling and eliminating the titans for good, but is this actually what happened? In this short video I’ll present all of the evidence that Eren is still alive, but his fate is worse than death.

I'm Bumper Jumper, dedicated to exploring the deepest and most profound stories in anime, video games, movies, and TV shows. I’d love to hear your thoughts on this in the comments below!

What do you think happened to Eren? Did I change your mind?
  • @JDINK
Part of me wants the story to continue on because it’s such a amazing story but it’s because it’s such a good story that I think it should also just be put to rest, whatever happens next with that little boy should be left to our imaginations.

My theory is that wherever someone who had obtained the power of the founder is buried, a new hallucigenia is born. That doesn't necessarily mean that new hallucigenia is Eren's reincarnation. I believe Eren is permanently dead and that kid at the end of the show will become the new Ymir.
  • I want it to end. It's a beautiful ending.Considering the wars that are happening right now, it's a middle finger to what the actions of our leaders are leading us to.

As much as I want more of this amazing anime, I believe that sometimes, writers prefer to end with a little something for the readers to wonder about and make their own stories instead of giving them a non-questionable ending...It doesn't mean always that there will be a continuation...I do it in my books giving either hope or something to grab onto...

I had a theory that this "Ymir's" centipide is basically "life will" itself, most likely this tree is supposed to symbolize the Yiggdrasil, 9 worlds, 9 titans etc... So the thing is, this centipide came to Ymir when she was dying and wanted to live, but it's also interesting that Ymir became slave to Fritz, I think she became slave to children / main goal of life - to reproduce. That's why she is slave in Paths dimension. But when Ymir is kind, liked living things, in flashbacks she said basically "you need to live that everyone likes you and help others", Eren is about freedom, freedom imo is also one of the main goals of life, so I think if he still alive he is not a slave like Ymir, but maybe more like a slave to freedom, so my thought is, if it supposed to represent Yiggdrasil, what if the The "Ymir" tree supposed to be "Asgard tree" like gods literally gave Ymir powers (it also might be the Midgard tree), but the Eren tree supposed to be Alfheim tree. So if Asgard tree spawned when there is wiil to live, Alfheim tree is spawned when there is will to freedom. It sounds like a complete nonsense (especially because English is not my native language) but it kinda holds... Well first of all, Eren has green eyes, sometimes ltblue, Elfs are often portrayed with either green or ltblue eyes, elf ears in titan form, and he is pretty tall looking titan. We know for a fact that some of the titan stuff is based on Scandinavian mythology. After rereading, looks like a lot of overthinking nonsense tbh.

I really hope we get like an hour long special sort of like the lost girls or something like that but in this timeline, Eren completes the rumbling.

When Mikasa chopped off his head, i'm a 1000% sure he was already gone/rendered powerless and Ymir was just using his vessel/founding powers to do the Rumbling. When he opened his eyes (atleast to me) it seemed he was grateful he was being put out of the misery both for not being able to stop what was going on but also to stop his 'hurting' .. I felt like he was controlled ever since Gabi shot off his head and even though he stood behind the choice of starting the rumbling, i feel he wasn't the one in charge for most of it. I'm conflicted though.. the ending scene could mean 2 things, 1 it is an endless cycle that will keep happening as "this is a life lesson to us all IRL" or 2 there will actually be a sequel and this was the intro

I think yamir watching mikasa "do the right thing" and kill eren, allowed her to free herself from her self enslavement to the king. Since she couldn't help but love him, so she obeyed him.. but Mikasa showed her that she can escape that

even if attack on titan got a new story or same story with some same characters, it cant hit this much this is the maximum. it will never get as epic as this but i would really like to see the story continue. i might write my own story about what happens after that boy and the dog approaches the tree
  • @giygas9305
Would be awesome to see a continuation of that final scene after the credits. Only thing is, it could result in something other than Titans this time.
  • @PotatoArt
I would actually love to see this. Considering that Eren admits himself that he has been going crazy because all time exists in up his head all at once, so I imagine after 2000 years he would be totally insane. That would be really cool to see in my opinion. As well as that, I feel like maybe he could be the next hallucinogenia because he was buried in that tree and the next person would at some time fall in and become the next founding Titan, completing Eren’s will.
  • @kanob6440
I love how this anime seems like it's real history and titans DID exist so far back that no one actually knows about them in current days
  • @danilo8325
Could it be that Eren took all 9 shifter for himself like Ymir, I believe we will get sequel but it will be totally different Name and Characters but hopefully we get to see Eren
  • @tiagameland
DAMN bro you are really gaving me hope here! i REALLY hope it will happen! Indeed we have seen the kid and the dog as titans on erens founding titan so it does really give hope! 😲

So if u guys are big Aot fans you probably know Isayama’s biggest inspiration for Aot was a visual novel called Muv-Luv and it’s kinda crazy how many similarities the 2 series have Muv-Luv actually has multiple endings witch was one of the big calluses for the AOE theory’s (anime original ending) and basically Muv-Luv original ending is very similar to the ending of Aot but 3 years later they released Muv-Luv alternate and the alternative/ real ending was very similar to the ANR ( Akatsuki no Requiem) theory’s for how Aot was “supposed” to end according to the linked horizon music video that is supposed to symbolically foreshadow the ending of Attack on Titan. Basically my point is don’t be surprised if in 2026 something called Attack on Titan Alternate comes out.
  • my take on the end is that some of the founder's power remained with eren at his grave, then developed the tree again. fate dictates that the cycle repeats over and over again, that the struggle for freedom will continue endlessly (as said in the ending song lyrics) however it's unlikely that the titans would come back in their previous form, as look at the boy compared to ymir. while the boy is venturing here seemingly out of his free will and free of danger, ymir was desperately running away, injured, trying to survive. as zeke says, the paths and the titans were born out of ymir's will to survive, so she escaped to it after death. most likely out of the boy something better will come to be, something unlike the titans, showing there is still hope for humanity to escape the cycle after all this and no eren won't come back to life nor will the series continue, i'd rather it not pull a "somehow eren returned" thing
  • I think I felt more emotional when Mikasa died and the progress of AoT world into modern and futuristic warfare. The aftermath of nuclear war made me want to see new characters of this universe.
  • @JoshDGade
It's possible that traces of the hallucigenia was still in erens head and / or blood, and it has been slowly regenerating over the years, and as it regenerated, the tree formed into what it is.
