You know Alex is a true One Piece fan when he lets them be wrong about stuff and doesn't correct them because it would spoil it for them.
-
When Netflix is not 100% in control, it just works. Having Oda full involvement right choice.
-
I absolutely love that after 25 years of being on air, there is once again a whole new generation of fans that will be able to redo the discussions and theories that have been started 25 years ago, most of which haven't been answered yet

To me Usopp feels like the normal human surrounded by giants on the crew. Thatâs why he works so well as a comic relief because heâs surrounded by dudes who can kick like Bruce Lee and a rubber man and a dude who uses 3 swords and heâs just Usopp đ

Alex holding back when AJ and OJ was theorizing what devil fruit Shanks possessed got me đ

Luffy is more immature in the beginning of the anime and really takes time to develop in the anime and get use to. So I think one of the changes they had to make was to make luffy a little more mature and serious
-
I'm kinda bummed out that they didn't do the scene between Along and Zoro. The one when Arlong holds Zoro and sees his massive wound. The terrified look Arlong had in manga and anime, and the line where he says something like "How the hell are you alive" hits really hard. It worked so well since at that point Arlong was shown way above all of the straw hats level.
-
The actors for Buggy and Mihawk were PHENOMENAL. Loved every second they were on screen, really hope they keep this quality up and get more seasons pumping
-
I thought Arlong was weird at first, but the actor did such a great job that I loved in the end

Oda wouldâve never let his golden goose get soiled by something like Netflix trying to take full creative control, he just wouldnât allow it. With that being said, this is what happens when you respect the source material people will like youâre show and it helps newer viewers get into the series without feeling pressured to watch 1073 episodes

I think the only thing I felt they could have done better was strengthen Usopp's role in Syrup village. The original had pirates beating the crap out of him as he tried to stall them from getting to the village. It's also nice to note that Oda did point out that if we were to consider ethnicity, he did envision Luffy to be Brazillian. This sort of tracks if you consider Dragon's skin tone.

I love seeing YouTubers who I have watched in the past that arenât necessarily in the One Piece sphere get into the series through the live action adaptation
-
As a One Piece fan, I have never been more excited and curious to hear Alexâs opinion since he is the only one in the crew who watches the anime
-
One reason it works, is the cast has great natural chemistry. The casting was absolutely perfect.
-
It made me read the manga. Gotta say, they got Luffy spot on from what I've read so far in the manga
-
As someone whoâs never read the manga or watched the anime, this show was soooo fun! Loved Koby, loved Luffy, and all the characters. Really hope thereâs more seasons.
-
Rurouni Kenshin was a very good live adaptation of anime aswell. Defenetly worth a watch

Usopp is meant to be the lower skilled kinda just random dude on the crew. He's a human surrounded by monsters basically. He's a coward but steps up when it matters and that's what defines his character. Early on in OP he didn't do much, but he does develop. Not as much as I would like, but he does develop.

Since Angry Joe asked for an explanation: Basically, if you eat a cursed fruit, you lose buoyancy, your powers are supposed to stop working (though this is inconsistent) and you can't swim. Also, being immersed in non-salt water can greatly weaken you (There's some hilarious images of Luffy looking drained while taking a bath.) However, you can get splashed with regular water and be fine. Depth also matters: it's a little inconsistent, but as long as it's only waist high, Luffy is usually fine.

If youâre worried about not having time to watch the anime, you could monetize the time commitment by watching together, filming, and uploading as videos in a reaction/watch along format. I know youâre not a reaction channel but I love seeing people discover and experience this story, and Iâm sure a lot of your community would watch along with you guys!
