I picked up one of these for £20 on gumtree because it wouldn't start. Can of carb cleaner for £4 and followed your video. It now runs beautifully. Thanks.
  • Could do with moving the camera to see the work your doing Mick
  • Thanks Mick for the lesson. Good video! Like your whole set-up! Can’t wait for the next one!😊😊😊

Hi Mick, just bought one of these mowers and it was exactly the same, it wouldn't keep running and when it did it was constantly hunting, I watched your video and then tackled the job. It's now running great 👍
  • @Big_Johns
Good job Mick, a good cleaning and it runs.... always a plus. 👍

I don't make many comments tbh, but this certainly deserves a big "thank you". Watching dozens of similar issues like this I pulled the carb off and on to no avail many times, and the F**** thing still wouldn't run more than 5 sec. What struck me about this one is you saying just because the fine needle file or whatever you use goes through a jet or fuel flow opening doesn't mean it's completely clean. Also don't chase a carb that's beyond a normal clean buy a new one meaning they can really gum up badly With that in mind I really went to town making sure my fine drills ended up turning in the holes and not like before threading in and out, and then I finished reaming them with the drill bits like you showed. Low and behold she now purrs like a kitten and the the grass has had its first cut. BTW Take no notice of those having a pop at you about your camera work. Because if they can't suss what you are doing out of camera shot they shouldn't be attempting this and instead pay someone like you. :-)

Great video Mick, appreciate it !! Took my carburettor apart( almost identical to the one in your video ) and noticed it didn’t have an o-ring 🤨. It’s worked for 2 years without so hopefully it will run for another 2 lol !! I’ve also bought some of the tools you use. Carb needle cleaning kit and the pick tool. Bought both for under a tenner 😁
  • @HobbyMotorDK
Good one Mick - so many mowers gets binned because of this
  • Thanks for video, job for next weekend! Is there anything in particular wrong with the Torch spark plugs? Thanks
