Art Competitions Are TERRIFYING

AI has gotten so bad that my mom asked me why I was pursuing a degree in Studio Art instead of AI art because she thought it was a legitimate career path for artists. I hope that colleges don't make classes for AI art!

When I participated in Lightbox Expo’s paint a thon, we had to submit WIP images, color studies, character designs, rough sketches and whatnot, and the judges would drop in once in a while over discord to see how things are going. We need more rules and regulations to help reduce cheating.

I saw a news article where a piece was disqualified from an ai photography contest because it was real 🤦🏾

Worse part, the guy didnt even bother to use less obvious same looking name and the judges let it slip.

It's honestly disappointing knowing that real artists are pushed aside for the fake AI arts with no attempt put into it.

People who enter an ART contest with an GENERATED "artwork" are something I'll never understand. It's rather sad that now we have to make sure something wasn't generated by AI, even Speeddraws or the drawing process can be generated in the near future. Just sad. Edit: Guys, I wasn't asking for an explanation, of course I understand why people use AI instead of drawing; it saves time, resources, etc. "Never understanding [something]" is just a way to phrase how stupid you find something , atleast where I come from.😭

Losing against awesome artists because I lack the skilzz? Applause. Losing against AI bros? No my man get that shit outta here.

What gets me is there seems to be no authentication. One guy shows up six times and no one bothered to check this?! What really gets me is I keep seeing artists on social media who didn't make the top 300 and yet he did...six times!

They don't allow calculators in maths Olympiads, maybe they should think about adopting this same kind of rule.

The same guy does multiple submissions and they're AI 😢 TO WIN A CONTEST 😢 . We should call out these fake artists till they hide and our COMMUNITY REGAINS ITS LOVE FOR REAL ART.❤

art competitions should have a rule where you have to specify your medium/software or progress shots or smth like that
