    Sadly, the Labour Party and the Tories also carried on wrecking Britain's economy.
  • This is only half the story: the Brits tried to do it to Hitler, too. Same problem in both directions: all they could manage was an invisible blip in the background noise of inflation, rationing, celebration and fear in spending. The basic problem is that the vaunted Monetary Equation, Money supply equals cash times velocity, contains exactly no information. It's as informative as saying the back wheels on your car go forwards. "Nobody here knows anything: we're monetary theory specialists."
