Cody it's shocking and disgraceful that Google / YouTube haven't paid you anything in the last few years. I really hope you get that sorted out you should making good money from this awesome channel of yours. It's one of the best channels on the whole frickin' platform.
-
14:49 pause here and you can see a rattlesnake in a little cave and Cody didn’t even see it… my god I’m glad he is okay…
-
"He hurt his antenna so we had to give him a temporary reflector dish here for communications." 🤣🤣🤣
-
I laughed at the cat’s antenna and reflective dish comment. I hope your cat heals soon.
-
Makes me sick to hear that youtube isn't paying a long time, humble and educational content maker like you, Cody. There needs to be some serious back pay here, the flogs.
-
the extra production value at the start with robocody walking around was really great
-
Every time we see RoboCody the filming gets more and more impressive.
-
Nobody gonna mention how close cody was to a snake at 14:48

In industry we use 'slide plates' made of teflon or HDPE riding on thin polished stainless steel to allow piping systems to move due to thermal expansion. Since the tanks are already HDPE, polished stainless sheet on the wood runners may be a good enough future solution, there would be much less friction than the wood. We have immense loads on surprisingly small bearing areas without binding. Mounting a sump centrally would also mitigate the issue, but complicate draining.

always a good day when cody uploads, especially when it's chickenhole base
-
14:48 I was not expecting you to casually walk past that snake. xD
-
Not every video has to be a major project, just seeing you and RoboCody and the critters and the day to day is satisfying. It's good to know ChickenHole Base is still out there moving along. It was nice to see the landscape looking a bit more verdant than last time.

Wood mostly expands an contract due to humidity. Its like 7 % horizontal to the grain and 0.1-0.5 with the grain. Plastic on the other hand is affected by heat. I did construct some furniture with 20 metres (i dunno, 60 ish feet) long plastic parts, and we had to make them like 5 cm longer, otherwise they would shrink to mutch down when it gets cold.
-
Yey, chickenhole base series is back. You also look happier. Happier cody is always a good thing.
-
To weatherproof the roller gap and have flex you can use the L shaped garage door seals from Homedepot (or wherever). Foam-rubber, extremely durable, resist UV well, etc. It's actually really handy stuff for misc projects.
-
i was confused how you did the robo cody scene so flawlessly, until i realized it wasn't actually an edited scene like previous ones. but infact a real different person. nice
-
Always a treat to have another episode of chickenhole base, that roller solution to thermal expansion is cheap and elegant
-
Loving all the easter eggs throughout the video. Plenty of eggs around from the chickens, might as well have fun with them.
-
Good luck on the antenna repairs! I'm sure that rover will be excited to not need the comms dish anymore

Imagine how beautiful this area will look like 50 years from now.
