Badges are my favorite way to brag without vc

But what badge should strike the most feat into you when you see it?

Today we find out

I will split the badges into categories and put the top badges against each other to find out who comes out on top.

I believe the 9,999,999 Grizzco points club is the hardest to get. Just takes years of grinding

You can farm for every salmon run badge and get them significally faster than intended except for the 9,999,999 milions points one. That should be the hardest badge in the game period. Second place should be the 10,000 big shots killed, as they don't spawn in certain tide levels and even when it can spawn, it won't always spawn

I have the silver cohozuna badge for killing him 100 times and it took me 300 hours to actually do this, that means when you need 300 hours for 100 cohozunas you will need 3000 hours to get the gold badge.( Seems totally worth it for me 😂)

Don't forget that the badges for Tricolor Turf War are available for a limited time. Once the Splatfests are over for Splatoon 3, they are lost forever.

The worst part about getting the 1000 kills on Coho is it’s almost guaranteed that at least one or more superboss salmonids will be added. So we’d likely encounter it half as much if one more is added, and a third as much if two more are added.

Wait. What? I feel like you made a mistake. You get hazard level max before you get 999. Hazard level max starts when the average rank of a team is at least 865 EVP. You need to win several HLM games before you get the gold map badge. So the gold badges should be harder.

Something thst i feel you should've mentioned is that getting points towards weapon stars aren't based entirely off of turf. If you use the weapon in ranked, turf painted isn't even something you have to worry about compared to the points you get from winning a ranked match (especially if you get a KO)
  • @SpectreBonk
The weapon badges aren’t paint, it’s the bonuses you get at the end of matches, so if you ko you get like 1500 points or something.

I got the defender wins badge from the one Splatfest where I was defending, i don't think it's that bad
  • the cohozuma one is hard no doubt but i think the hardest by far is beating dj octavio boss fight, completly impossible and takes months if not years of grinding
  • @lukehoffman9742
fun fact: the special badges specifically need you to use your special at some point in the match. which normally isn't hard, but.. the only reason i know this is because i play a lot of carbon roller and frequently don't use zipcaster once.

I think you can get card packs from the Sheldrone in Alterna as well

3:52 This is actually not the most optimal way to paint with Tristringer - the best way is to waggle the controller up and down while tap firing (Squid School has a video on this I think)

I think if you see a 9,999,999 Grizzco Point Club badge before 2023, get that person to speak to an optometrist and a therapist, especially if they have 1,000 Coho splats with it.

I thought the 9,999,999 Grizzco points badge was just glitched at first, because it was so silly to jump from like haha 100k to 10 m i l l i o n... ... But apparently not. Might as well sell my soul now!
  • @ilikefrogs
"The tri stringer is the hardest to get gold badge on" Me who is maining that weapon and paints almost 1k score on each turf war: sounds like a skill issue
  • @lw1391
Super interesting question because the criteria could easily be which one takes the longest or which one might be completely impossible for some players. I have absolutely no idea how so many people have the after alterna badge but they do so it can't be number one but glad to see it mentioned. An interesting criteria could be what is the absolute shortest amount of time it could take you to get a particular badge. And for that one the cohozuna one is going to be absolutely brutal.
  • After the last Splatfest I'm over halfway to getting the gold Tricolour defender badge and it was my first time defending so... sounds like a skill issue to me

I don't really think I can consider "taking a long time" to make the badge "harder" per se unless the fact that it takes a long time is the part that makes it hard, like in the TriColor Badge's cases since, depending on your luck during Splatfest season, you might never even get the chance to play Tricolor on the Attacker or Defender side once due to simply always being on a Defending or Attacking team. Granted, if you were seriously committed, you could wait until after the half-time results to choose your team, but then you're forfeiting a huge chunk of the splatfest. These badges in particular I think stand out over anything like "Kill Kohozuna 1,000 times" because these have a 3-year deadline. Things might change if they make an update similar to what they did with Splat 2's Shifty Stations, but as far as we know, these badges will be literally impossible to get once Splatfest season is over. I think Hazard Level Max is the badge to point to for most difficult. Cohozuna will certainly take a long time to kill 1,000 times, but he's never going to get any harder than he is and you can splat him on any hazard level. As long as you're persistent, you'll get that one eventually as long as you're good enough to kill him at all. Hazard Level Max, on the other hand, requires you to overcome an extremely high skill wall across a team of four players and even then, it still requires a lot of luck because there are some combinations of bosses that are nearly impossible to recover from. You might get it far faster than a lot of other badges, but that doesn't mean it's easier at all.

I won way more defense games than I lost, however that may be because I was playing with my team rather than soloq
