Catholics are often accused of practicing "man-made traditions". Is this true, and what does it mean? Do other Christians practice man-made traditions as well? How are we to make sense of this? In this video, former protestant pastor Keith Nester shares his insights on this matter.

There’s nothing like a former protestant on fire with Catholicism. 😁

God bless you, Keith, and angels protect you as you speak the truth with such clarity, kindness and conviction!!! P.S. you're going to LOVE Central Oregon!!! From its many mountain tops, to rivers and high mountain desert scenery, it's God's handiwork alone!! You may want to look at a map so you'll recognize the Three Sisters, Mt. Bachelor, BrokenTop, Three-Fingered Jack and Smith Rock! Look out, Oregon! A flame of the Holy Spirit's Fire is coming to town!!
  • This is excellent. Thank you for making this. Another mic drop at the end with "Jesus- made tradition" -gonna use that one!

I love an evangelized form of Catholicism. There are so many priests and bishops on YouTube that tend to approach Catholicism from a more philosophical or cerebral point of view. I contend that if you can't be on fire and excited about your faith in our Lord Jesus Christ, then you are missing out. We need leaders in the church who are charismatic, passionate and on fire, while still holding to the sacredness and solemnity of the mass and our traditions. I know that's a fine line to walk, but they are out there....Father Mike Schmitz is one that comes to mind. My priest at my local parish Father Todd Lloyd is another. Wonderful priests of God.

Good video, Keith. As someone who is going through RCIA at the moment, I see the fallibility of all that I used to believe. Submitting to tradition is the ultimate humility. So much Grace follows. God bless you
  • D.L. Moody created the Sinners Prayer in the 1890’s. Moody also created the sayings”ask Jesus into your heart” and “ask Jesus to be you personal lord and savior “. Moody created these 2 sayings to change the meaning of what being “born again “ is, which of course means to be baptized.
  • I have to give you so much credit, Keith, for understanding your opponents' teachings. It would be so easy to straw man Protestant beliefs, but you refer to them so accurately. I agree with you that traditions are not necessarily a bad thing. Like you said, the problem was that the Pharisee's traditions were going against God's commandments.
