A video look at the tools and equipment I carry in the built-in storage trunk of my 2014 Can-Am Outlander 1000XT, as well as the custom mod I made to make packing and unpacking easier.

  • great job! you gave me some great ideas what to carry, like the outtake lol!

Note you have wire. You might think about some electrical connectors as well. You have quite a bit of redundancy, i.e. three ratchet drives? To each his own but you might consider a "shorty" hammer and smaller jumper cables replaced by a larger shovel. Also a long straight and phillips screwdrivers. Great idea about the divider.

Great idea on the divider. I don't keep anything in that compartment other than some tow straps and a clevis. Everything you put in there gets wet... soaked actually! I'll be watching to see if you find a way to seal it up. I've been thinking about adding the front fender storage compartment from the Grizzly to my XMR. Just have to get up the nerve to cut that big hole first. lol

Do you have a video for how you installed your own dry boxes/pelicans on the LinQ system?

I guess you never had an issue with the Compartment coming open? I'm a little scared to put anything back there

Hey billavista, Can you tell me the model of toolbox that is? I'm having a hell of a time finding the perfect one to fit in there. Thanks!

how did you mount those cases on the rear of your atv ?
  • @Ishcry
what size is the tool box you have?
  • What kind of boxes do you have on the rack and how did you get them mounted. Thank you.

Whoa, dude. Is that all stuff really with out all the time? I have tire repair plugs, co2 canister, two straps and foldable military type shovel (small, but much bigger than what you have). I've been wondering if I'd upgrade my Can-am, but I'm thinking again if their reliability is that low ;) Btw I didn't see the most crual "tool". Those co2 canisters or something to fill your tyre if you have to repair it on trails.

Too bad Canam didn't make that rear storage area waterproof
