So you need to build a website but there's just so many tools to choose from — Which one is the right fit for you?

Well I've been reviewing website builders since 2013 and in this video I'm going to share what I believe are the five best website builders right now.

No company has sponsored this video. This is my honest opinion and I've personally built sites with every single website builder I mentioned.

Squarespace — Best all-around website builder.
Wix — A close competitor to Squarespace. Lots of freedom.
Shopify — Great for ecommerce.
Webflow — Great for designing your theme from scratch.
Carrd — Low price. Great for simple, one-page websites.

Remember: at the end of the day it's important to just get started.

Choose a tool, try it's free trial and start building. You'll discover REALLY quickly if it's going to work for you.

And remember that there are good websties built with bad website builders and bad websites with good website builders. Writing good copy and having good photos is probably more important than the right tool.

GOOD LUCK!!

Webflow has the best of both worlds. There's a learning curve, but once you have the basics, the creativity will flow.

Thank you so much for this content. I'm researching this and appreciated the brief demo on each site too. The color coding of your bookshelf cracks me up!

Thanks for this video. Really needed this type of content to kickoff this process of getting a website.

What website builder would you recommend, if I only want a simple website that will be about one database and options for the user to search in it or search for results most similar to what he entered?
  • Thanks Steve. What about the differences in payment processing when adding a shop to your site? (and associated costs of THOSE) Say for example am I right in saying that Wix can link up with SumUp, but Squarespace can't. So I might choose Wix because of that - since in design style they're both decent. Can you outline the differences from that point of view please? Many thanks.

What are your thoughts on Framer and Wix Studio (not necessarily Wix Classic, as that’s been covered on this video).
  • @ARBricks.
    genuinely incredible video, thank you
  • Great video! I wanted to touch base on Shopify - It does have a bit more customization than you stated. When customizing you can create templates for other types of pages. So instead of just editing the home page layout, you can create product specific templates, or collection templates, and then connect those afterward. This gives you a lot more options in terms of customization.
