Why Did Rec Room STOP Doing This!?

I’ve got a feeling Rec Room is starting to go through the same phase Roblox did not too long ago. It seems the game has become a lot more corporate than an actual game. They’re not listening to the community as much compared to a little while ago, bummer 😔

Some INCREDIBLE rooms came from build contests. I miss them!

I was talking to a team member today about this. We have been chomping at the bit, ready for a new contest. They keep taking away all the fun and helpful programs that brought me to RecRoom in the first place, and replacing them with nothing but constantly pumped out outfits for everyone to spend their tokens on.

Rec Room is in the progress of pretty much removing everything good about the creative community. Featured rooms stopped getting shown off at the top of the menu, contests stopped, the creative club youtube is only posting the same gallery videos that average 200 views, I could keep going forever. They really need to step up their game and make it more enjoyable and rewarding to be a creator in Rec Room

Another great video again Tara! I agree with you, Rec Room NEEDS another building contest! Perhaps a Summer Themed/tropical themed room for a Building Contest this summer…

It's not just building contests that Rec Room killed, it's every creator based program ever. The Game Jams, the monthly Makerpen challenges, Invention Tower and the entirety of InkInc. Not to mention Seller Swag. They've killed every incentive to create quality content. It's a bad look for Rec Room and really shows their disloyalty and blatant disregard for their creator community. Still, I maintain hope that things will change. The community board getting updated again is a small but welcome step in the right direction.

I feel Reclympics should also come back, it was a good way to compete and meet people play play the same game as you without having to join a league. Plus the Olympics is this year! I miss it :{

I was talking about this the other day. I miss contests so much.

Hate how these poppyplaytime-skibidi toilet costume rooms are also affecting the creators actually trying to make poppy playtime games. I’m working on a poppy playtime chapter 2 full game in rec room but poppy playtime has a bad reputation bc of the 6 year olds. I’ve been working on the game for 7 months and have less than half the game done.
