  • You are right Tim, The Borja family setlled in Xativa(Valencian province) in the XIII century. They became as The Borja in Italy due to their powerful connection to the church as some Cardinals and 2 Popes were from the Borja family. Xativa is a town placed 60 kms away from Valencia with a valuable historical meaning in the history of Valencia. As a native from Valencia I am, I highly recommend you a short visit to the town of Xativa, to visit the historical monuments, the houses property of th e Borja family, the old moorish neighboorhod and the castle on the top of the hill. It is very well preserved and you can enjoy of fabulous views arround the huge valencian orchard. Just take a train from the Main Train Station (Estación del Norte) in Valencia city centre, it only takes 30-40 min. journey to Xativa. They also cook a particular rice (oven coocked) that is really jummy😋😋 and an ancient dessert of moorish origins, and that unfortunately is almost disappearing . It is knowed as Arnadi.

Siesta is more common in the spitzeren Part of Spain, if you go to Sevilla at summertime you will see the comercial streets all closed from 2 pm until around 4 pm.
  • Wow, I hadn´t realized that the lovely seating areas we sat on this september, in that square were probably only just put in, in July.. Please could you let us know the name of the place where you stopped for the beer and tapas. It might be that you mentioned it at some point and I missed it.
