I find that the best way to cook lobsters is to buy some fresh lobsters, then invite some friends who love to cook, then sit back drink some wine, and before you know it the lobsters are done.

Back in the 70s, most would put the lobsters in a bucket of wine or beer first and get them drunk before cooking. The meat was more tender that way.

I notice some of the comment saying murder, but If people don’t like watching lobsters getting boiled, then why are you watching it in the first place?

Keep that sweet smile . 😊 I'm cooking mine now. Thanks
  • Hi, I need help! I have 17 people to make lobster for and a 100 qt pot. How many 1 1/4 lb. to 1 1/2 lb. lobsters should I put in the pot at a time??

This is the fifth video I've watched in about 20 minutes and everyone has given different cooking times per pound of lobster. I guess you have to learn cooking time through trial and error.

Generally, only hard-shell lobsters are shipped in the mail. Please note there are softshell ones, lobsters in the process of molting/shedding and take less time to cook.
  • I live in Louisiana . I went on vacation to Maine a few years ago. I hurt myself. I ate 3 3 pounders on the 1st day. I love lobster. It's definitely a lot more meat than these crawfish we eat. ❤

Any recommendation on how big/brand of pot for boiling (4) 1.5 lb lobsters? Thanks! Getting ready to make an order from you guys now!

I agree I always put my lobsters in the freezer for approximately 45 minutes and it numbs some so hopefully they don’t feel any pain when you cook them. We have to treat all creatures with respect.❤

What’s the difference between boiling and steamed?
  • No mention of whether water is at a simmer or boiling while cooking??
  • @bassnut57
Does the cooking time start from when the water begins to boil again or from the time you put them in the pot? That could take a minute and half more. Why is nobody ever clear about that?
  • @cungbo
So if a 1.5-lbs lobster requires 11-12 minutes of cooking, how long would it take if I cooked two of them together?
