Dealer have a hard time doing oil changes. Can’t imagine this mess
  • @Freynightwalker
Wow, a company stepping up. Thanks for keeping us up on the news Tim.

Right thing to do but it won't ever be the same after the dealership gets there hands on it. Dealerships can barely change oil without messing up these days.
  • It’s the next best move from a customer satisfaction standpoint. The best move would have just been to keep the 5.7L around for a few more years.

I am still waiting on Toyota to make the parts available for the fuel line recall, 23TA09, from August 2023. I have serious doubts I will see a new engine before 2026.
  • @jimthumerzs2301
Wait! That's 3 BILLION dollars! I bet they could have figured out how to make the 5.7 run cleaner if they had that much R&D money to throw at it!
  • @Danzilly
    30,000 for a engine! That's insane!
  • @JWL427
Its not the 4 or 5 bolts, its all the wiring, hoses, connections. But better a new engine that doesnt have spun bearings.
  • @Gene1969
I knew it! I figured they'd have to since people still remember Saturn doing this when they first started. Good job Toyota.
  • @Omfcody1
Good on Toyota for taking accountability without a fight. I wouldn't mind if they'd just take my truck and give me a '24 though 😅
  • @johnjenkins6118
I wish mine was part of the recall. I would put about 50,000 miles on my truck before I got it fix. It would like getting a new truck.

Dealers can barely get a spark plug change right. This could be a mess.
  • @sprint2648
They did the right thing but dang I wouldn’t trust no dealership to do a good job replacing it! This will be a nightmare!
  • @jimthumerzs2301
I'd take my time taking it in for that recall! All "free" miles until then!

I hope the techs get paid good for fixing engineers mistakes
  • @jeffp5418
I'm so glad I have a 2019 that runs perfect. I couldn't imagine spending 70K for a truck and then having a dealer tech do this to it. I would dump that thing so fast.
