Interview from December 14, 1996. Arn Anderson talks about Chris Benoit and his future with his family. Part of an angle for the Chris Benoit / Kevin Sullivan feud but amazing unintentional foreshadowing of the 2007 Benoit tragedy.

At any age Arn Anderson looked like a 51 year old wrestling coach/history teacher who wears short sleeve dress shirts and tie that’s too short
  • @atifqavi2054
Chavo Guerrero also said that Arn Anderson was the first person to predict that Chris Benoit was dead when he missed Vengeance 2007.

'you take care of your family...you dont mess with someone else family' true wisdom

Arn Anderson has looked old all his life. Yet doesn’t age from that oldness

Best thing with this promo, he never had to raise his voice. He didn't scream, holler or even speak with venom. He laid it on the line straight laced and executed it superbly. Amongst the best promo shoots in wrestling.

Arn Anderson and Jake Roberts both cut good promos without screaming like a lunatic.

Arn Anderson: Chris i'm gonna ask you this one time. Asks question twice
  • This promo was godly. You won't see any of this realistic stuff on any wrestling program nowadays. Arn was just the best. He was as good as Flair but in a different way.

Everything seems eerie in hindsight.  This is just Arn doing a fucking awesome job as usual.
  • Considering Arn never had a promo written for him in his life, and they were blurring the lines between kayfabe and reality in the Benoit Sullivan feud, I bet Arn hasn't watched that promo in decades because it's so eerily prophetic. Crazy shit.

I met Chris at an autograph signing prior to the 2004 HOF ceremony, the night before he won the WWF title. He looked casual and down to earth from watching afar as he signed other fans merchandise. Finally it was my turn. I wished him good luck, shook his hand and told him that he deserved the belt. He gave me this eerie stare as he thanked me which made me wonder if I had said something out of place or if he was just shocked by my comment in a good way. Whatever the reason, it felt extremely awkward. To this day I'll never forget that look he gave.

This was way beyond a storyline. This was a real plea from Arn. A chilling foretelling
  • Among the MANY reasons why Pro Wrestling isn't what it used to be is the art of the promo. If Arn Anderson were a shady mechanic , he'd get me to pay for a rebuilt transmission if I only needed an oil change. That's the power of persuasion,& no one was as direct, simple,& respected as much as AA. Truly as master of his craft.
  • Hot damn, Arn destroyed all who heard this. No swearing, no catch phrase, no yelling, just honesty & brutal conviction
  • @Moose6340
Arn just has this incredible way to come across as completely believable and mega-intense without raising his voice or going nuts like so many wrestlers do. In terms of a guy who can cut a promo about virtually anything without falling back on catchphrases to prop him up, he's one of the best.

WOW. That was very cryptic. If only Chris had followed Arns Advice

I respect Arn Anderson's talent because he knew himself and knew how to maximize it.
