In the past week, following President Joe Biden's withdrawal from the presidential race, Vice President Kamala Harris has all but locked in her party's nomination, racked up an impressive list of endorsements, and hauled in a mountain of cash. Constituencies who had tuned out of the campaign are tuning back in. Correspondent Martha Teichner talks with political strategist Stuart Stevens and presidential historian Lindsay Chervinsky about what the past suggests is in Harris' future.

  • What about Shirley Chisholm helping to break the glass ceiling almost 50 years ago? Shirley broke barriers for Women! She is history!

Im not voting for someone just because of their race or gender. I'll research on my own and make my own informed decision based off of that.

Age Gender Race? No matter we are not going back! Vote đź’™

This is not about Kamala Harris, this about freedom. We don't have time for all of that pontificating and we can leave history to the historians. Its go time folks.

The fact that this election is close (according to polls) between a prosecutor and a convicted felon tells you all you need to know about the American electorate. Make America Educated Again!
  • @davecord4553
'Harris could debate both Trump and Vance at the same time, and still win without blinking an eye.
  • The choice is easy the prosecutor or the ,predator, Fraud, felon!!
  • Trump not being “likable” is not an issue. I well remember when Hillary was asked about a poll showing her lack of likability. That sort of question never seems to be asked of men.
  • Felon Don's policies goes against most American's! We want a leader to Represent us not Rule us!

I was never not going to vote for Biden. But I haven’t been this excited to vote for president - ever. Kamala feels like such a hopeful relief.

🚩Someone needs to tell Kamala to “repeatedly” respond to any question about immigration with👉We introduced a comprehensive immigration bill to fix the system, but republicans blocked it & didn’t even allow a vote on it just to please Trump 🤷‍♀️

I'm a white 74-year old woman from rural Virginia. The only girl of eight children. My mother died on the operating table while having a hysterectomy, the only true means of birth control in 1950. I was five years old when she died. My youngest brother was 4 months old. It was a fearful time. My father didn't make much money and my grandmother did the best she could to provide some stability. We worked for pennies when we were just children. It was a tough life for all eight of us, no government assistance, no health insurance, no special advantages. We did grow up but not without psychological baggage that had to be overcome. All eight of us did well by society's standards primarily due to availability of birth control. Education was my priority. I elected to have one child who grew up to be a fine young man. I earned a bachelors degree from a Jesuit university while working a full time demanding job. Now, at 74, proud to say that I've accomplished my goals and look forward to other achievements, all because of easily availability of birth control. We won't go back just so Corporations can have cheap labor due to lack of education and lack of birth control. Yes, I'm white from rural America and KAMALA speaks for me, too! We won't go back!
