In the past week, following President Joe Biden's withdrawal from the presidential race, Vice President Kamala Harris has all but locked in her party's nomination, racked up an impressive list of endorsements, and hauled in a mountain of cash. Constituencies who had tuned out of the campaign are tuning back in. Correspondent Martha Teichner talks with political strategist Stuart Stevens and presidential historian Lindsay Chervinsky about what the past suggests is in Harris' future.

This is not about Kamala Harris, this about freedom. We don't have time for all of that pontificating and we can leave history to the historians. Its go time folks.

I was never not going to vote for Biden. But I haven’t been this excited to vote for president - ever. Kamala feels like such a hopeful relief.

This 67 year old white lady from Virginia is so exited to vote for her! πŸ’™πŸ’™πŸ‡ΊπŸ‡Έ She’s a former prosecutor, an elected attorney general, and now our elected Vice President. She is smart and tough, and will be a beacon of light to take our nation forward!

I beg to differ with the last statement: Kamala is not screaming, she is raising her voice above the clapping enthusiasm of her hopeful vision for a better society.
  • Listen to her talk no whining bitching just talking to the people telling what she would like to do and getting the people involved now when you listen to Trump all you hear is lieing and bitching and all negative nothing uplifting.

Im not voting for someone just because of their race or gender. I'll research on my own and make my own informed decision based off of that.

  • I just figured out something MAJOR about Trump that I couldn't quite put my finger on. Trump and his strange religious calling and how he's playing politics. People go to church for a lot of reasons; some for obligation, some for guilt, some because it's tradition, some for business connections and politics, and Trumps feeding from and into that part. But there's a lot of OTHER reasons people go to church. It's the OTHER reasons that Trump doesn't understand. The other reason? People have faith, are curious, want meaning, are lonely or are hurting, and people who want community with others, people that want to express their love and care and to reach out, to help the poor, the elderly, the vulnerable, the needy, the sick and the starving. Trump doesn't CARE about that part of the church. He also doesn't care about that part of ANY faith, any community, any organization, or any message like it. He has divided people and played into the worst instincts of and drawn out a bad cowboy posse with an agenda for a form of power that doesn't build up the good; it raises up the bad. Unfortunately; this is the Good, the Bad, and the Ugly and Trump loves the last two. Yes, Trump is literally building a posse. But, we know how that goes, whether it's Capone, Hitler, Mussolini, or the like. Right now? Trump is in full swing, Benito Mussolini. A total carbon copy. But that's just one of many of his chameleon phases that's masking the true darkness he is preaching and intends to fulfill. And yes, he's preaching a false political and social gospel. But playing the church like he does? The good parts are already figuring out what he is doing, and they ain't having nothing to do with him. This causes him to focus on his own desires to build a totalitarian theocracy as a front with a power enticement, but after and inside of that, more terribly, an end to a Republic through means of a boiling fascism. The frogs are figuring this out early and jumping out of the pot to not get boiled. Trump didn't expect that. He expected them to slowly boil and be part of his frog leg stew. Not a chance. πŸ˜‰
