  • Excellent video. Tips galore! Love that you demonstrated each item…way better than just talking about them as others tend to do. Thank you!! 😊

great no hype video. may just be my confirmation bias lol as I have had a lot of these products for years. FWIW two things in keeping with the "compact" theme. flameking makes a 3lb propane tank that's only 10 inches tall. cooks 2-3 meals a day and boils water for coffee for 2 people for almost a month between refills. it and the jetboil foldable 2 burner "basecamp" stove AND a fry pan, and a sea to summit collapsible pot and kettle all fit in the carrying case for the 5lb tank. Very tidy footprint in the rig (just needs to be stored upright due to the propane). and full disclosure the jetboil is expensive. i got mine awhile ago with a serious discount code from a group i belong to. otherwise it does price most people out. but if you can afford it or get a code it's amazing. 2 residential stove quality burners that store in a 9x6 inch footprint. frontrunner has a 5g water carrier with spigot that's same ish footprint as your 2g jeri style (just taller not wider or longer). That said. 2g is fine for most vanlife/trucklife type campers. I go off grid alot in a 4x4 with very little opportunity to restock potable water so 5g potable is more of a necessity for 2 ppl for 3 to 5 days at a time.

This is so helpful! We are full time travelers and we are getting ready to do some spring cleaning, decluttering, reorganizing, and sprucing! Definitely using many of these storage ideas!

Those crush lamps are great. I also use those Thermo-bug killing whatever lanterns. Love the collapsible sinks. I’m actually finishing the pullouts for my box in the back. I’ve tried to camp out of my suburban, but I just can’t get comfortable in there. I use a queen sized cot bed with a 6” memory foam mattress and a 10 x 10 pop up. I use a bucket with bags and a toilet seat. I’ve been a backpacker since I was 15, and have accumulated multiple mess kits over the years. I have the same stove you use (propane or butane), as well as one of my smaller backpacking stoves. I also keep a nylon tarp for an awning (can’t pull the trigger on one of those fancy expandable ones…yet). I’m working on a DC shower system that will give me a real good, hot shower. And I have one of those collapsible shower tents. I’m gonna make a roll up wooden floor out of some oak I’ve got lying around. I have a 27’ travel trailer, but sometimes it’s just better to go light. Thank for the video. 😁👍

Wow. You're speaking my practical simple love language. I love the telescopic toilet! And ceiling storage ideas
  • @LuvSTLcards
I really love ALL of your videos. They’re so helpful! I am going solo camping in a couple of weeks for the first time and ur tips have helped!! ❤❤
  • @mosheroams
I can attest that the jump starter is probably one of the most important tools you can bring. I went solo car camping for the first time in Joshua Tree over this last Christmas, and wasn't thinking about my car's battery life. Left the doors open too long on the first morning and my car died. Thankfully, my neighbor in the campsite had one of those jump starters, and was able to help me out. I went into town that same day and bought one of my own. Thank goodness I wasn't wild camping with no one else in sight, or it would have been really bad. Thanks for sharing this list. It will definitly be helpful as I test out my own camping gear and figure out what I do and don't need.
  • @name.terrie
Thanks for the ideas, tips, and product recommendations. Happy trails and safe travels!

So many great ideas! I’ll be stealing some of these for our next rig! Love your little easy camping set up. You are so organized too. Great video. Miss and love you 😘
  • Great info. I love it when others (who also have a limited budget) do all the shopping work. My Amazon camping wish list just got longer. Thanks a bunch.

  • @TaraWmsT
    Lots of great recommendations!
  • I have a collapsible sink that we use in our camper. I love it. Even has a removable drain plug thing. I use it a lot. I do like your mesh window covers. We have a door "tent" for our hummer. We've used it a couple times. Yours looks much easier to use. Love those little lights. Those are too cute. I like your toilet. We have a small collapsible that we take along with us on our overlanding/tent camping adventures. Great list of items.
