  • I clicked on the video because I saw in the thumbnail the different positions of the pinky finger and pointer finger in the various balls to control the hook. I was surprised and disappointed that there was no discussion about the finger positions shown in the thumbnail.

I'd like you to create a video showing Increased Pressure on the ring finger versus the middle finger as you're releasing the ball to see what it does to the roll and ball reaction down lane

Thank you Benjy. Your detailed explanation is prefect! At the bottom of your swing, it appears that you you un-cup your wrist to get you thumb out creating more revs. Can you explain this in detail and possibly provide drills to help improve that?

Great vid! will try these releases for sure!
  • @Charmander009
Can you show how to release ball with a wrist device . I’m not strong enough yet to cup it so I use a wrist device
  • @lakerzfann
Quick question. Can you go over when to take your thumb out of the ball. I’m starting to feel I get more hook when I take my thumb out first and use my 2 fingers. A lot of Yt videos don’t go over this concept

Tucking the pinky hurts way too much for me. I use a collar grip, meaning my wrist is already in a cocked position holding the ball, as I lack and have always lacked, the wrist strength to torque the ball during the swing. My average right now on book is 205. My drawback is due to how I hold the ball and throw, I haven't the slightest clue how to develop more revs. I can change my axis by how the ball rolls off my index finger, for spares mostly, but if the lanes are too wet, I'm kinda screwed. On dries lanes I'm okay.

Now do TILT & explain when and how to use different tilt angles.
  • @killing530
how do you get behind the ball with high axis rotation? whenever i try it feels like i’m letting go to the side of the ball and giving it the “suitcase” release rather than being behind the ball
  • @jac6158
Look pretty similar, could you make a clearer video please
  • @user-rw7zs7ig5c
Better if more actual slow motion demonstration while telling us how. 9/10 of the video are theoretical
  • @oldgoat50
All you bowlers , what finger turns the ball? I was told this bout 45 years ago.
  • @derekj4
That took waaay too long to get to actually showing the technique. I skipped to the last 2 minutes.
  • @saikiranj807
lol so much talking for almost no knowledge transfer
  • @deanhaswell1115
Why is it these videos don't show and teach basics like how to pick up spares. Oh. I know! It's boring and not fancy. Stop already with the look at me videos and start teaching basics.
  • Stop using ur hands, it's distracting. Less talk, more visual close ups.. and stop repeating "THIS RELEASE IS GREAT"!
