Our summer lambing continues even if still a few days early... Having a little time however, has led me back to some previous problem solving from lambings past.
Our last group seemed to have a little more joint ill in the bottle lamb pen, so after discussing this issue with Dr. Rex, he advised ensuring both quality and quantity of colostrum is being offered to every lamb in the first four or five hours of birth.

After checking a few moms milk supply, I noticed some was pale and watery. Then I remembered an old tool in my kit that I haven't brought out in a while... the refractometer!
Sure enough, the pale colostrum is testing too low.
So we supplement with a real good dose of the powdered version. Hopefully, this added step will help eliminate joint ill and SAVE OUR LAMBS!!

ALSO, we solved our oopsie baby mystery!!!

This whole blurring with YouTube is absurd - they should be ashamed of themselves! Sandi’s content is educational and wholesome. I find it hypocritical when YouTube allows people to film homeless, drug addicts, with open, bloody wounds and rotting flesh, but they can’t allow birthing sheep??? I’m embarrassed for YouTube and their ignorance!

I so object to the censorship. If I didn’t want to see the natural experience of a lamb being born I wouldn’t be watching this channel. Why do they need to protect me from this ?
  • Does anyone else hold their breath until the lambs do the little head shake? Just me...ok, I'll just be over here in my corner rooting for the lambs. ❤🐑

At 1:16, Sandi's "you did fine" comment to the triplet mom who only had 2 born alive got me. Sandi really loves her flock and cares for them over and above. Glad to hear they figured out the "oopsie" lambs. LOVE hearing the little lamb voices. ❤🐑
  • The Lucie story reminds me of my niece: maybe she just wants sympathy from you two. My niece was running around in the living room while the rest of us were in the den. THUMP. Silence. Pitter patter of little feet. She runs into the den, makes certain everyone is looking at her; then, and only then, does she start bawling.

For Gods sake. The birthing process is so beautiful and such a natural thing. Why on earth do the make you do the blurring out. If you don’t like watching DONT!

Piper getting scolded by a momma Ewe at the 12:40 mark is hysterical! I love Piper!

There’s nothing like lambing time!! ❤❤ Sandi is the most loving, thoughtful, thorough sheep Mama of all time! Love watching these beautiful lambs making their way into this world! (the triumphs, as well as the losses) What a great Sunday!❤❤❤❤❤
  • I am a moderator on a you tube channel about birthing horses. Nothing is blurred or flagged. Not sure why they pick on you so much. You do wonderful work

I had a similar paw situation with my Beardie, Peaches. She managed to climb out of her X-pen and catching the clip in her foot. And of course she wouldn’t let me look at it. Took her to my vet and put her up on the table. She took one look at my vet and extended her paw for him. Complained that I wasn’ allow to even look at it and he said ” It’s in their contract” The whole YouTube thing is obnoxious. Graeme from The Hoof GP recently said that YouTube demonetizes nearly all of his videos. Nothing forces people to watch these videos. If you don’t like what you see, leave the video and let the rest of us watch the content we want.
  • I will never get over the cuteness factor of these baby lambs. Shame on YouTube for censoring your videos. I've seen much worse on YouTube. You inspire so many with your love and care of your family and your sheep. I'm still tossing around the idea of getting a few sheep of my own. My granddaughter would love it. She is almost 2 years old and loves to watch your videos with me. When she hears the lambs and sheep, she comes running and leans into me to watch. She tries to touch them and hug them. I got her a little stuffed lamb that she carries around all the time. Making the sounds of the lambs. Thank you Sandi for your inspiration.
  • Oh my gosh Sandi…. You just made me smile so big when I saw your video!! I had Open Heart surgery on Aug 1st and have been home from the ICU for a few days. My pup and I are just sitting on my back porch wondering what would make us happy today and guess what…. SANDI BROCK OF COURSE!! Thank you as always for entertaining, teaching and just able to relax as I watch your video!! Love you and your beautiful family!! YAY!! It’s baby time!!! ❤🥰❤️‍🩹🐑
  • So sorry you have to deal with unreasonable censorship from UTube rules, Sandi. There is much more disturbing things that people post….a natural farm birth certainly shouldn’t be one of them. Your videos are what farm life is all about, and you are always very professional and caring through the whole process. Keep up the excellent work! Love from Pennsylvania, USA 💕🌷🐻
  • Sandi, you're so dedicated to your flock, family, and farm. You are an inspiration to so many.
  • @NDbred
I chuckled when Sandy said she was "sheepish" about not using her colostrum tester for awhile.
  • @Becmcg1
You look SO much more relaxed now that the wheat is in, the pens are clean, and the kits are done!
  • @joleneb6216
What I am noticing with your preg tox ladies is that by you being so proactive this time, it seems they are doing better. You keep learning and trying new things and I think it is paying off. It has to be encouraging to you to see more positive outcomes. Keep up the great work.
  • What a fabulous way to start the day with Sandi and lambs!! I love the little Tunis babies!❤️🐑❤️
  • We appreciate you. I would also appreciate if YouTube would stop making you censor natural processes with animals.
  • @CarisseH
Oh, a idea when there is blood, instead of blurring it out, turn that part out the video black and white. Just a idea. I love your videos no matter what happens.
